A perfect example of why teamwork wins games.
So, for all of you that remain unconvinced that how you act determines how you win, I have a little story for you. I had just played a match as Zyra support, and I was playing with all random people in soloq. In all fairness, we should have lost this game as pretty much all of the enemy lanes had won, and were steamrolling through the game. All our team was focused on was splitpushing and hoping that we could win based on sheer luck that they would not have focused on defending. At first it worked, and then it stopped working as they would wait in ambush to come kill people (mostly me QQ while i was warding) in our jungle. It was time to change strategy with an emphasis on objectives and avoiding fighting. The match lasted about 64 minutes in total, being one of the longer matches that I've played, but in the end, through the power of communication and teamwork, our team won.
Of course, this would have been a good comeback, even by the end of the game we were still down ten kills. However, what I was expecting in the post-game chat and the victory screen was definitely not what I had gotten, and I had learned why we had won and they had lost. You see, as soon as I got into the post-game stats, I was greeted by a wall of angry, toxic chat. One person on their team was complaining that their amumu (who was really good) was the "worst amumu na" and said "you guys are too heavy". That was followed by a stream of pure vitriol, one that would make mother's cry and fathers quiver in terror at the sheer amount of hate coming from their computer screens.
This is what made me realize why we had won. It wasn't because we got lucky (although we did, in reality), it wasn't because we were just outplaying them, it was because we kept our cool in the heat of the situation, and focused on what we wanted our strategy to be. In response, the enemy was constantly caught out, or was playing too ballsy, or was simply typing, which ended up getting them killed.
So let this be a lesson to you folks, in a match where everything should have been decided within twenty minutes, the act of working as a team in a team game will ultimately be the deciding factor in the games result, and an organized team will almost always win.
