I've Said Plenty Of Things I Wish I Could Take Back

I've said very very cruel things in my years on this game to people that I wish I could take back, all the time I hate knowing I've said some of the things that I will not mention.

However.

If I am taking someones shit all game long and I can't take it anymore because they are just pushing it and you DARE act offended by anything I say, you are the highest form of toxic. If you are acting cruel, talking mad shit and overall slamming me into the ground with insults and I retaliate you don't deserve to be playing this game. Screaming to report and screaming that what I said is offensive.

I try my hardest, absolute hardest to control my rage from coming out on someone when they act this way but sometimes it get's too far and I can't help it. I don't mute people because I try to keep every form of communication open so we can win. So if you are someone who does this, I hate you. To top it off if you are someone who does this and then actually reports me afterwards, I especially hate you for life.

Sorry for the pointless rant but I just had to get this off my chest.

Why don't you just mute at the first sign of toxicity from another player?

It saves a LOT of stress

I play only ranked, I try my best to have fun but I am strictly competitive.

Ranked or not, you should be playing for fun.

You know that you can physically just not push the buttons required to respond? I am not saying that your rage isn't legitimate or justified, but pretending anyone else is responsible for your actions isn't legitimate or justified. A very extreme example is, if that guy was pushing you and insulted your mother and you stabbed him to death: you're going to jail without question.

50% of winning a game of league is communication, and 90% of that communication comes from pings. If you are honestly convinced you can't control yourself, mute everyone at the beginning of the game (you can even just turn off allchat completely and cut out 50% of the work). For me personally, I mute everyone if I make a mistake, or if someone else makes a mistake and flaming starts, period. Even if it's not directed at me, it affects my morale and my game suffers.

Hang in there. Remember to have fun. It's a game after all.

I get not wanting to mute people.

But if they are clearly just raving and ranting and flaming you, and it's distracting or bothering you - hit mute. You have to weigh the odds that they'll actually communicate usefully (1%?) against the odds that listening to them will distract you and impact your play negatively.
