I Will Ban A New Champion Regardless If You Hover It Or Not

If you flame and start getting pissy and toxic about me banning a brand new champion who has barely been out for more than a day in ranked then you need to man up and play a different champion chump.

I will NEVER allow new champions through the banning phase, especially if I see you have only 1 or 2 games played on them. You have normals and customs for learning, go there and not be toxic because you want to risk everyone else losing.

I would say as long as this is in rank I'm ok. But the sad thing is I've seen this happen in normals and it's really sad when people do it in that and think it's ok. Rank is a different story since you are there to give it your all, there is no way of knowing a champions strength and weakness when that champion has only been out less than a day!

I never ban new champs in ranked. You will either do bad or good with them. End of story. I'd rather have someone on my team do bad while still trying to win instead of having someone troll and not try to win at all because "You banned the champ I wanted."

I prefer to give my teammates the benefit of the doubt. I never question what they are playing because I don't know them or how good/bad they are. You want to play a new champ in ranked? I won't say a word to you and will let you play them. You want to play a crazy off-meta pick? I won't say a word to you and will let you play it. Because at the end of the day, you will either do bad or good. And since I don't know you or how good/bad you are, I'll just trust that you know what you're doing.

And contrary to popular belief, these people tend to do good more often than not.

PS: I may be a bit biased because I don't play normals. The only time I play normals is when ranked is diabled while I'm in the mood to play League.

You sound like a troll.

Actually, youd end up being the person being toxic, not them. Your post kinda points to that. I agree that there should be a 1 week ban on new champs for ranked, but there isnt, and purposely working against your team's desires due to your own pointless desires helps no one. All you did was start the game off with you getting reported and possibly one other getting the same.

What about the people who mastered that champ on the PBE, and bought it as soon as it dropped onto the regular servers?

TyrekGoldenspear8/11/2016, 5:59:17 PM3 votes

What if the player in question has lvl 6 on them in the PBE?

You're free to ban whatever you want , its your ban.

However the reverse applies, dont rage at me for ppicking KLED .... you didnt ban him.

Yes, I agree that it is normally rather unsportsmanlike to ban a champ that a teammate wishes to play.

I'm not saying all of this one-sidedly. Even as I typed all that above, I was cringing.

One one hand, a person is being... well... what is normally considered a douchebag. On the other hand.... there's a plethora of issues with playing brand new champs in ranked. Heck, there's a plethora of issues with certain champs being present in certain games (hence the ban options). A champ doesn't have to be banned by riot to be selected in banning phase.

Frankly, I'm torn. I consider it unsportsmanlike and trollish to bring a champ into rank that you have little-to-no experience with, and in the case of new champs, that puts almost everyone into the "little-to-no experience" category. So on one hand, I consider banning a brand new champ to be pre-emptive team defense against all sorts of shenanigans.... much like with any of the 5 other bans.

On the other hand? Yeah, you're right. Normally it's a pretty low blow to ban someone that a teammate intends to play, whatever the reason. Not exactly the best way to start out on the right foot in most cases.

So I'm kinda torn on it. I've been on both sides. I've been glad that someone banned an intended champ in certain situations, and I've been pissed when someone banned mine.

I can see both sides of it.

Assuming your theory is correct, and you will never play the new champ in ranked yourself, then there is a 44.4% chance that your team will pick him and you will autolose, and a 55.6% chance that the enemy team will pick him and you will autowin. Meaning that banning the new champ will work against you more than help you, if we ASSUME your theory is correct.

Kled is kinda toxic I'm banning that dude until Riot makes their money off him and nerfs him a bit.

Just because they are a new champion doesn't mean you should ban who someone wants you to play. Wouldn't you be mad if someone banned what you wanted to play?

There really isnt any way to tell unless they tell you (plus not that many people have it) But i have a PBE account, and I'm lvl 6 with Kled. But since he just came out, i don't have ANY games on him on my live account... But yea as i said, there really isn't any way for the people banning to know that unless you tell them,.
