Are looking really cool. I am actually looking forward to this and hyped because even though it's a palette swap it looks really cool. Thank you Rito for the cool skins and they will be cheap to boot. The blue Lucian is bae.

Honestly these should be available for IP. Some of us on live have or nearly have all the runes/champs/runepages that can be bought with IP. The game is 5 years old,. we need a place to sink IP at this point.

They did say that they are open to changing it in the future, but are sticking to just RP upon launch "as tradition".

I think it could possibly make sense for the default skin chromas to be available for IP and the skin ones for RP, since the champs are IP and the skins are RP.

Except making recolors that should take less than 10 minutes to make and selling them for more than they're worth isn't them working hard at all. Riot DID NOT get where they are today from doing nothing but greedy business. They got where they are today from making a good game and supporting it well. Sheep like you is why things can't be fixed when riot does do something wrong.

You use the term sheep way too loosely. Because I like something and I have some spare change to spend I am willing to buy it. If I don't want to support something because I think it is wrong then I won't spend my money.

Keep in mind this is a free-to-play game where no one is forcing to buy anything to play the game. Sure IP costs could use a good adjustment but once again in the F2P model this practice is completely fine because, once again, you get nothing out of the purchase except for a cosmetic change. If something enhances the gameplay or is required to purchase then that is greedy.

Take off that ego mask and look at the big picture. You are blind as a bat.

You're missing the point completely. Way back when original proposed this idea, almost everyone who posted in the thread said they wouldn't buy it if the price remained that high. If they want to sell a lot of people on this idea they're going to have to be less greedy about it. I really want a black and red Mecha Kha'Zix skin, but I'm not going to pay 540 for three skins when I only want one... especially when I already had to pay 1350RP for the original skin. I mean, seriously... Where did you get this ego thing from? A LOT of people were open about how much they hated the proposed pricing back when Riot asked for feedback and here they are asking for more RP than they proposed last time... this isn't an ego thing.. this is a consumer telling them they won't buy it if it stays this way.

I don't give a shit what they do about there practices. If I see something I don't like I will not give Riot my money it's that simple. "Who gives a shit." uh? I'm pretty sure Riot grew due to their game being a hit and people who enjoyed playing it decided to buy their skins and support them.

There's a difference between a company being fair with their market for the most part and a company trying to sell you something that should take 10 minutes to make for slightly more than half the price of a standard skin. This is not me saying Riot is evil or trying to screw their player-base over. This is me saying Riot is being a tad bit greedy with their pricing for this thing specifically.

NOBODY is being forced here. I'm saying that if they want to get good sales on it, they should follow what the 500+ upvoted posts that where in last year's thread regarding the pricing. If they want people to buy it, then listen to the community.

I seriously doubt making the price of skin recolors more reasonable and giving us better purchase options for it is going to run the company into the ground.

But alright, I'll stop calling it greedy. Is there something wrong about me asking for the skin recolors to be sold separately instead of a three skin bundle that I have to pay extra for and won't ever use?

Chroma packs were intended to be obtained by methods other than RP. They have a great idea, and first state its a RP exclusive. Then they "deliver" by doing what the community asks. Now Rito is seen as a community-oriented company.**

I seriously don't get these kinds of posts. Nobody in this thread is even asking for freebies or being as childish about it as you're making us seem. We're expressing our displeasure that we can only buy the skin color we want by purchasing a bundle for a higher price. Again, the customers are giving feedback and letting them know why we won't buy it. This isn't REDDIT. Please at least take the time to read posts before you go greentexting wrong stuff like this is 4chan or some shit.

Yeah but lets be honest, many (I would even say most) people will be buying them because they like one of the chromas, and so far as that consumer is concerned it is 590 for one recolored skin, which is ridiculously overpriced.

It's a cheap and dishonest sales tactic and there is no denying it.

They're fooling people into thinking they're getting more bang for their bucks. Instead of selling one chroma skin separately, they're forcing us to buy three for a bundled price. Why are they going to force players to pay extra for extras they don't even want? It's like them forcing me to buy battlecast viktor during my purchase of battlecast Vel'Kos for 50% off... that's cool and all but... I don't want it.

Because I'm an artist and modeler and therefore know exactly how much work it takes to make each skin, and these chromas do not take nearly enough effort to justify that price, they are not even a hundredth of the work of even just a retexture. In fact there is a thread up right now from a guy who made two professional looking chromas in a few minutes each.

There is no reason they cannot make a lower price tier for chromas, that would be the honest thing to do. After all they had no problem making two higher price tiers, including one for which skins already existed, and which to this day is unclear about what qualifies a skin for it.

This Chroma Packs idea was mentioned by staff about a year ago and it got of negative feedback regarding the pricing. A lot of people were for the idea but nobody was with their proposed pricing on it back then. It's sad to see that Riot is going the greedy businessman route, despite what people said last time.

Well when everyone voted and commented in Riot's survey and thread, the polls said nobody agreed with their last price range. The idea was either scrapped or postponed for the time being only to return a year later at a higher price in the form of a bundle. That just seems to convenient.

It takes literally one hour to make a recoloured skin. It's just Photoshop sliders and masks. Even taking into account adding the skin to the database and testing, it doesn't take much more than a single manday to make a "chroma" (we used to call that a recolour).

Any amount of money for these is too much, which is why other games like HotS and Smite give them away for free.
