Why do I get punished for AFKs?

Just had 3 of them in my last match. One guy just says bye and leaves, then his trolling duo partner afks as well along with the feeding jungler.

Fact: I've had 4 afks on my team this season. Fact: I've had 0 afks on the enemy team.

Riot, why do you punish people that get trolls on their team?

Riot doesn't, the AFK's/trolls do.
