Why am I losing so much lp but gaining so little?

So I recently had a string of bad games and fell from Gold to silver.

Now I am noticing that whenever I lose a game, I will lose 20-25'ish lp, but whenever I win a game I only win 10-12'ish lp usually.

Is this normal?

your mmr is lower then your rank, meaning that your not in the elo your suppose to be and the system is trying to push you back into where you need to be or something like that.
