@Red Named Morons - You Going to Ignore Karma in 2017 (Fire Ricklessabandon)

Vanjie··2 votes·1,024 views

Since he doesn't want to address the botched identity he ruined and only wants to give Karma a numbers buff for 4 years now, maybe it is about time you either fire the imbecile Ricklessabandon or make someone else in charge of her. It is close to a year year and Karma still has an incomplete visual update and thematic problems, a kit that is bland and not unique, a half worked on skin for Christmas, another numbers buff she received for an ability that functions like something else in the game, a nerf to the numbers buff he insisted on buffing when everyone told him not to, a complete lack of communication in regards to anything involving Karma. Remember, Riot Games think Karma mains are there most dedicated and passionate fans in this game . . . . yet they cannot be bothered to do a single thing on her. No Department at Riot Games can be bothered to, at least, fix and finish her incomplete visual update. Moronic Red Names that support a champion with no identity, a failed and half worked on visual update and thematic, and think they are communicating great with Karma mains . . . . because we are the most passionate players in the game.

Please fire Ricklessabandon for continuing to ignore the problems he created with Karma. Please fire this incompetent Developer that has yet to communicate with the community about her problems and what they need help with. Please fire this imbecile Developer that didn't care about Karma when he stripped her of everything the community loved on Karma, and replaced it with his own ideas so he can have an excuse to support it 4 years later. Fire the moron Ricklessabandon.

Wow... I know Rickless~~ messed up~~~~ with~~ ruined Karma, and has failed to really communicate with Karma's community, that's his bad (nobody's perfect). However, let's not call for anyone to be fired, that's just well over the top and mean. I 100% understand how mad you feel about the way Karma has been handled, many of us feel the same, but that doesn't mean we should go after people personally because of it.

He is human just like the rest of us and he at least believed when he was changing Karma that he was doing something good. In theory it looked good for the most part minus the removal of her shieldbomb, but it turned out to be a failure (as predicted by many). To be honest I'm more mad at the people who didn't even like/play Karma before who jumped on the idea of that update, only to then dump her again after the update landed and failed. I'm sad that we didn't have someone like SilverSquid to articulate the cons of that 5.10 update at the time, because if we did those changes probably wouldn't have made it to live. I'm also disappointed in myself for not having the confidence to voice my concerns at the time.

For now we're gonna have to take this "L", they can't leave Karma as she is forever - especially after her current pbe changes go live, they'll have to address her properly. Until then, try not to let the salt take over bro.

I disagree.

So you think the work he did on Karma is polished, great, and he really listened to the community? I mean for Gods sake he removed her fans and shield bomb.

Her fans were removed in her relaunch, that wasn't Rickless.

Karma is in a great spot right now =D

did karma get another update, or are we talking about the same update from years ago? because technically that update was successful.

karma now has a lot higher play and ban rate than she did before the update that "ruined" her.

a lot more people like her. looking at her 50% winrate and 10% playrate she is in a very good place right now. shouldnt touch anything on her.. also she needs the 5 people that played her before her update to stfu.

Just to clarify, the op is referring to the 5.10 update which Ricklessabandon was responsible for. It was stated by Riot that the changes she received in that update were to increase contextual decision making:

Passive: Buffed RW - bonus damage removed for extra root duration. RE - damage component removed for extra shield. No longer interacts with passive.

Their goal to increase decision making failed, they limited her decision making and made them more obvious, lowering her skill floor and skill ceiling significantly. The failure of her 5.10 update was realised in her massive 6.6 over buff which pushed her into LCS. That's why she now has that 10% play rate, and that's why she's been getting steady nerfs ever since.

In regards to her initial 3.5 rework, Riot has stated that it was rushed and even has missing animations and particles in the client. Meddler has said her rework is bland and not sufficiently satisfying, and GroovyLord has even stated that she didn't need the rework she got. So those 5 Old Karma players you say should "stfu" have been proven to have a point.

There are definitely characters in the game who need more attention than Karma right now, but that doesn't mean Karma fans shouldn't voice their concerns and push for change.

It's hard to tell. Ricklessabandon was in charge of her 5.10 update, that did things like remove her shieldbomb for no good reason and create the basis for the obnoxious Tank Karma you see today. However, this didn't take effect until nearly a year later and a significant number of straight number buffs (especially 6.6). For some reason though, he is also blaming the 3.5 changes on rick, which he had nothing to do with. Like the unfinished animations, removal of fans and overall failure to give her direction. Admittedly, rick didn't make this better, but he is in the life update team, he can't even adress half those things (like animations, for example).

I do not think that Karma is in a good place, as her identity, playstlye, skillceiling and direction is lacking. As a rework she was an utter failure. In terms of power and game health she is allright tho.

So guys I do not care. I am blaming this imbecile. He needs to be held accountable for his choices and the fact it's been 4 years and he has still not rectified his mistakes. Stop shoving your idiotic kit down our throats and make it more interesting or remove it.

Karma's REWORK launched in 3.5 28 March 2013 and was done by Charizard and another group of people who are not working for Riot anymore. Karma's UPDATE launched in 5.10 28 May 2015 and was done by Ricklessabandon as part of the life update team.

The REWORK was a well intended experiment that didn't work out because they had no prior experience in doing those things right. This is why they removed problematic stuff but didn't manage to replace it with sufficiently satisfying other things. The UPDATE was well intended by a person who didn't understand Karma, who didn't know her before her rework and who didn't bother to check with the community, who didn't see the gravity of his decisions.

Please blame the right people for the right stuff. I love your enthusiasm, but you sometimes just end up making the community look bad.

Which is his fault in the end. He still hasn't rectified the mistakes 4 years now. Fire the imbecile.

He was not tasked with rectifying anything. He was tasked with improving Karma without knowing her history or anything. You can't blame him for not making her akin to her original form. You can't blame him for not making up for design mistakes like animations, when this is not what he can do (he can only adress values).

But you can blame him for not actually making her better in any way.
