My little brother just finished his placements and due to some effective duoQ with me (silver 1 currently) he was placed in Silver 3... After going 9-1. He was G4 last season, so is something just wrong with placements xD?

You don't start at the last elo you finished in though. You start considerably lower with the mmr soft reset.the ranks have to be distributed properly and take in account that all diamonds, master, and challenger players start in plat
