Flaw in the whole sit back and farm when you are behind strategy...

I told my level 12 friend that when you are behind to just sit back at turret and farm. His favourite champion right now is Irelia and honestly he does pretty well with her most of the time. Any way this nasus got 2 kills on him this one game and I told him to sit back and farm under tower.... Nasus dove and killed him under tower 4 times, first time with a gank and the rest were him all by himself, he tanked like 12 turret shot and didnt even lose half his HP. The towers in top lane cant defend you when you are behind :/ something needs to be done about that in my opinion.

He was irelia, that was just bad play on his part. He has dashes, stuns, sums, pots, etc.. that makes it a pain to dive irelia alone.

First off all, depending on when that happened in the game. If a level 6 Nasus got 2 kills pre 6 and had a few items finished already, it's natural for him to dive and tank the tower lol

The whole idea for this term is to have someone play passive and farm instead of engaging in trades where they're behind and wait for assistance.

In this case, it sounds like he did the right thing but nobody helped him.

If you're behind, you are not going to win trades or a fight, so you should let the wave push towards your turret so the enemy laner has to overextend and once they are, it allows your team to set up a gank (Usually by the jungler or mid laner).

If they stay pushed up and nobody helps you in ganking your lane to alleviate the pressure, then you will lose turret and/or your life.

Once your lane is behind, in most cases you need assistance to rebound.

Part of sitting back and farming is to ward your tribrush so that you can't get tower dove by the jungler.

If you're low enough to get tower dove solo when the wave shoves in then you need to back off and recall and it's your own fault.

When you're behind that far, farming is a luxury and you should try your best to avoid giving additional kills.

There's no safe spot in League. If the game goes a certain way enough, you can be killed in your fountain.
