charcharmunro6 votesWell, they're "deleting" the champ because the old champion had a fundamentally poor design in their kit that no number balancing could fix. Or in the case of Sion, were just kinda clunky and thrown-together. Taric's change isn't gonna be quite as drastic, though, I believe.

Akeydel1 votesMost people didnt own Karma, or know what she did. It was a running joke that you NEVER saw one ingame. People would make videos of 'doing the impossible' and buying Karma. "Whats that champion you're playing? I dont recognize her"
I don't know about deleting her, but i can definitely say she was in a bad place.

I feel that Riot never really promoted her either, I rarely ever saw her on free week before she got reworked. Most people thought of her as support because back then, the meta was melee/mage bot lane while the adc went mid. After Season 1, the meta changed to adc+support bot lane and she sorta disappeared. She's a late game mage that had a lot of utility, sorta like Lee Sin.
Mind you, most of the time when I did well with her, I felt that it was because no one knew how to play against her properly (sorta like new champs that just get released, or people now realizing the power of Swain and don't know how to deal with him yet). I didn't feel like she was in a bad spot though because she had AoE nuked with her shield, AoE heal and mvt speed boosts. In fact, if old Karma existed right now with the numbers she had before she got reworked, she would probably be too strong in my opinion, simply because Riot has nerfed so many stats in the game over the years.
Guess it's a matter of perspective, but for me, she was one of the most interesting champions in the game and then Riot reworked her and destroyed her identity and just made her another mage that relied mainly on Q for damage.

SirShaggy1 votesPoppy's kit is impossible to balance currently, so I can see why they're reworking her. And they're keeping plenty of her old kit in while adding more iconic abilities.
Sion's old kit was boring, non-interactive, and didn't fit any sort of theme. Plus, his character was a joke. Just clumsy looking ogre-dude that quotes Arnold Schwarzenegger. The full rework was necessary and made an entirely new champion out of him.
Karma is the odd-one out... Her old kit was unique and had a very clear theme to it. Riot scrapped her almost entirely because she wasn't a popular champion, she had invisible power, and they felt her W was too confusing. As an Old and New Karma main, I'm still salty they didn't preserve her AP bruiser yin-yang playstyle at all. They tossed her out and made a much more generic mage-support out of her.
I'm hoping they'll take good care of Taric when they complete his kit. He's not in too bad a spot right now, but he lacks any real play-making potential. I'm not trying to get my hopes up but as long as they don't pull a full-Karma on us it should be fine.
