Opinions on Yorick

For years, Yorick has been a joke, forgotten and mained by like 3 people. Yet suddenly, when his rework is revealed, people are coming out of the woodwork with these negative opinions about the VGU and why the old one was better, etc. Where is all this coming from? Is it bandwagoners who just want to gripe about a random champ they never played? Have there been more Yorick mains that anyone ever admitted to? Do people just want to attack Riot for any change? So what is it, where are all these people hating this rework coming from? I personally love his VGU, and think he looks great and fun, so I don't understand this massive hate for it since he was such an unappreciated character before Riot revealed his rework.
