"An Open Letter to DDOS Attackers".
Thank you. It's cute. No really, it is.
See people get all up in arms and get all ticked off at Riot for having 'bad servers' (Let's be honest Riot, they aren't perfect though..) and people get all ticked off at their teammates for playing like **** because some have lag and some do not, people get all ticked off at their ISP thinking that they're paying big bucks and are getting **** service in return... people get ticked off all around.
Here's the thing though, the length of time we spend being pissed off is pretty minimal. It doesn't last long. You really don't have that big of an impact on our lives, so if you're doing this for a little power trip high, enjoy it. Because it's not real. We all just continue with our lives. We go to work, school, play other games, the list goes on. My lag sucks. It sucks BIGTIME, but guess what, the game is still fun. Arams are still hilarious. Even more so when half the team looks like they're moonwalking. It makes for some hilarious Skype conversations. We actually aren't even minding it that much.
Riot will eventually get it fixed and get everything secured again, and you'll go back to not mattering... to anyone. Until then, we're going to sit back, play a League (which is a game, and as a game.. it's main purpose is to be entertaining and FUN) and be entertained. Hell, I'll probably buy more RP while I'm at it and try out the new skins, maybe try out new champs, try out new builds.. now is the safest time to try anything new because before long, we'll start getting Loss Prevented at the end of games because of you. So thanks for that! :D Not to mention, during attacks like this where everyone is lagging, and most of the community is aware of it, nobody rages at each other in /all chat. Nobody complains. Nobody is a n00b, scrub, trash, needs to uninstall. The list goes on. We all just complain about the lag, laugh about the ridiculousness of the game, and go on.
If anything, things like this make this community LESS toxic and far more entertaining. So thanks for that too! :D It's made dealing with random people in game far more tolerable.
Bottom line is, you don't matter. Your attacks don't matter. And to those of us who are casual players, we'll probably log off for a bit, enjoy a little something called 'having a real life', or better yet... PLAY ANYWAY.
Hack away.. keep at it. I'm enjoying every second of it.
Thank you.
