It's like when I tell them I prefer top and that I main Irelia and they ban her, still not sure why.

I didn't ban him, and I don't care if pros pick him up. 99% of Bards suck at the moment.

Honestly, Riot should implement a 2-3 week restriction on new champs in ranked play. Force people to play normals if they want to play something completely new and give Riot time to balance them before they show up in ranked.

When I played, I banned EVERY new champ for the first 3 weeks after it came out. Without fail, if I had control of bans, new champs were on my banlist.
The problem is that new champs are frequently imbalanced one way or another AND people suck with them usually. So why not ban them...?

Banning a new champ due to questionably skilled random people and the newness of a champ is fine.
Banning a champ because someone explicitly expressed a want to play them is a troll move and makes you a toxic player.

HOWEVER, that will never happen. It would kill revenue from new champs.
