Tryhards and Toxic Players

Hey there, I am a mid silver player, and I have something I'd like to share.

I decided to play Nasus on URF, and went top lane. Everything was good, I was ready to lose early but succeed late. However, It happens that matchmaking decided to pair me with a 4 man premade because one of their members was in silver 2. In that group they had a platinum 3 Riven .

The Riven proceeded to stomp me over and over. I could not fight her, I could not farm, I was useless due to this player always being ready. And since she knew what she was doing, she continuously killed me. I fed as a result.

My teammates harassed me because of this, calling me trash and bad when I could not deal with the platinum player. They were Lulu and Janna , and blamed the loss on "trash Nasus " Anything I said was an excuse to them, and they acted like they could win. Janna 's 16/12 apparently said she could win the game.

They went in late only to take minions left and right, any Q farming I could have done was removed. I was backed into a corner, unable to compete, and the teammates constantly harassed me. I couldn't do anything, and they go a step further to ruin my day.

I ended up losing that game, and I decided to backdoor 2 turrets with the 300 Q farm I had. The enemies ended the game soon after.

The Janna told me to "go learn how to play" despite being one of the worst early game champions in the game, even in urf. I could not believe how much they were trying to just demolish the enemy team for both sides. I saw both sides as just people looking for blood. I couldn't stand people like this, and it pairs me with an entire game of them.

From here on to deal with these people I have to play broken champions. And any time I do poorly, the team harasses me. Please, anyone with empathy, if you read this far, give some advice or something. And riot, is there some way to prevent players like this Riven from running into me, just because of a silver player. I just want to have fun, but I run into toxic players left and right to just call me trash left and right for not being a good early game.

Please let this be an end to people like this. Let me play a mode for fun in peace, and not have people tryharding left and right to win game after game without a single care to how many people play the game for fun; all they care about is winning in my eyes.

My final words: Let this be a lesson to players who play to win. Learn to have fun, and to forgive. If you do not, you are bound to lose more games, and never have one that is truly, for the enjoyment of the game.

EDIT: ran into another plat 3 riven in normals while trying adc thresh. Riven could 1v5 and kill all 5.

"Be humble in victory and graceful in defeat"

I don't pretend to understand people who take the time and energy to type toxic chat in the game. I've been raged at and raged myself, but very very rarely have I ever spoken out with anger. There's just no point to it. No one is going to play better with harassment. Personally, I'll tolerate a "What the hell were you doing?" or something like that, because League is high stress and a quick blurt of anger (while not justified) is understandable, continued harassment however not only accomplishes nothing but actively makes your own play worse. I just don't understand it.

For you Thief, I know you'll probably get the same thing again and again, but the mute button is a beautiful thing. No point on having their horrible behavior throwing your own game off. Granted this does not actively work against the behavior, but that's what the report is for. Yes, you don't get to see the results of said report, but it's something, and from what it sounds like these guys will get t the tribunal soon enough.

IT is URF. Game mode is gone.

But people play games to win not to lose.

When i see the term try hard i wonder why the other person is playing?

The Riven was in the same game as you because her mmr(not sure if this is the same in URF mode) is about the same as yours for normal games despite having a higher one for ranked. The only conceivable way you could avoid going against higher skill level players in normals was if the system for matchmaking in normals were changed entirely.

Also, I think that players being that toxic in a game mode that was meant to not be taken seriously in the first place is quite silly.

when I play anyone who is toxic to me I ignore the entire game because it is meaningless and pointless in my opinion to feed their toxicity and allow them to get to you. It was an URF game it's not like it was a ranked match. I mean Even if it were ranked regardless there is no need for someone to be toxic. You were simply outplayed by the opposing player. Trust me I've been there and I've done that to people before. For instance... Today was playing URF and used Twitch who is HIGHLY over-powered in URF. The Udyr on the opposing team at the end said that my entire team was hacking because I was 16-1-10 You just have to ignore people like this. Enjoy the game and unless you playing professionally take the game for fun. I mean even the pros take fun in playing.

Just my .02 but some people play the game to win. I'm not saying people don't have fun but there are still those people that don't find it fun to lose. Are there trolls? Yes. Are there feeders and quitters? Yes. But there are those people out there who just want to win because that is there version of fun. I don't like losing. I don't like getting grouped with people in a rank queue who don't know what last hitting is and cost me and my teammates the game.

Yes there is nothing wrong with just playing to have fun but just understand that the entire world doesn't share you view of fun. Some yes, but not all. If you play a game where there is a possible outcome of win or lose, 90% of the people play to win.

I've played for almost a year and of the several several loses I've had to experience i can safely say that only a handful were legitimate well played well fought "could have gone either way" type of loses. That is just to show you what the majority of those loses are contributed to. Players who think their version of fun trumps the others' in game with them.

And in the very long run if you dont want like what people are saying, Mute them. Not everyone that you get grouped with is there to be your friend.
