I decided against downvoting since you do strike up a point, and decided to upvote instead so more people could see and calm, thought out discussion could occur.
But here is the thing: it's not simply coddling or circle-jerking or whining.
If we were getting constant updates, being informed about the changes, you know... being kept in the loop, then maybe we wouldn't be so upset. But that is the thing: mum's the word when it comes to these things. They just come out of nowhere, without any warning or precedent, and we're expected to follow along. We don't have the right to demand they make changes, but we would like an in-depth explanation beyond 'we talked amongst ourselves and decided the change, we think it's best.'
There, right there, talking amongst themselves, and not including the community, something they used to do... something they lauded themselves for, as being extremely tied in with their playerbase.
It's one of the reasons they are where they are now.
It's like all of a sudden, you're told by the government you have to have your house a certain color shade, your shade of red is too dull and needs to be brighter, and there is no explanation given, you're just expected to comply. Imagine your husband or wife bought a dog, and didn't bother giving you a reason, they just tell you that is how things are, they feel it is the best decision and you have to suck it up, and if you don't like it: you can always divorce.
Technically, yes, nothing prevents you from divorcing in said scenario, but is that really what we have to look forward to if we want to preserve our dignity?
We're already tying to keep the community afloat with the issue of toxicity and feeding and a plethora of balance issues, is being treated like we don't exist unless it's a wallet with cash really too much to ask for?
If that is the case... perhaps you are right, perhaps it is time to move on.
