Not a Kindred main, but I did play a lot of Kindred when she was released up through patch 6.1. Haven't played her much since, as I've transitioned into ADC and she's pretty bad in that position atm.
As for your questions, I can help a bit. You definitely want Warrior over Devourer; your assessment is 100% correct for the reasons behind that. BotRK isn't worth buying unless you're up against something like a Mundo. Like you said, she's not a very auto-reliant champion, and she gets %HP damage from her passive and her E anyway. For jungle Kindred, I think the build would go something like this:
Tracker's Knife/Skirmisher's Sabre -> Warrior enchant -> Berserker's Greaves/Boots of Swiftness -> Essence Reaver -> Rapidfire Cannon -> Bloodthirster/Mercurial Scimitar -> Infinity Edge/Lord Dominik's Regards/Mortal Reminder. I'm not entirely sure, since I haven't played jungle Kindred yet on the current patch.
Yeh, that makes sense. I really like hybrid builds, since this meta is all about getting blown up. I was thinking something along the lines of this for a build..

It's similar to a Graves build, where you rely more on your spells than your AS for damage. I've also considered something like this..

It gives you burst potential, but also allows sustain in team fights. All would be tweaked per game, naturally, but for the most part I think Iceborn is one of the best items in the game right now. Kindred seems to have Mana problems if she doesn't have blue buff and she never really builds items to cap her CDR. So 10% from Warrior, 20% from Iceborn and flat 5% glyphs with 5% scaling glyphs would get you to 35~40% depending on the game. This would also give you the ability to not get blown up (if ult is down).
