Is this something that's in production? I like the Teambuilder set up and how it gauruntees we all get the role we want to play rather than what we're stuck with in ranked so I just wanted to know if this was in the works at all Thx for any responses if none then :(

Yes, they've already confirmed they are making a completely new teambuilder set up for both the current one and a ranked play.

Yep, they announced it here. Sounds like you'll pick 2 roles to queue for, it'll put together teams with players of each role, and then you would go through pick/ban accordingly.
