If you end up in Bronze at some point, it really is hard to climb out. This is do to the fact that if you start getting a good MMR to climb, the rest of your team ends up looking like this to balance it out. Let's assume you are mid.

Yeah, it is almost as if to get to silver, you would need to be as good as golds, and if you need to get to gold you gotta be as good as plats, it's fucked up because you have to be better than the people in the division you try to get to.

No, I've always been of the same opinion ( Needing to be better than the next division to rank up) Its one thing to play at a gold level but to have to carry golds then you're going to need to be able to play at a plat level, meaning if you were in plat you could do decently but you wouldn't progress, this is why so many people get stuck at Gold one or silver one, any top rank of the division.

That's silly... carry that logic all the way to the top. It literally demands that challenger players be better than themselves.

If you aren't good enough to carry yourself to gold, then you aren't good enough to be gold. The people who are in gold did that; that's how good they are.

I realize there are outliers, and that's true at every tier, but let's not pretend like it's true for every individual. It simply isn't.

Sidenote: if you play less, you are more likely to be ranked lower than your "real" skill level, but that's not the same thing as elo hell.

I was placed in bronze 3 in S6, got out within a day, and almost got to gold the next day. :P I don't know that ELO hell really exists like people say it does.

Most people I see in bronze kind of deserve to be in bronze.

Well mate not everyone has the time to play around 2000 ranked games in a single season like you did, some people that get in bronze find it very difficult to commit both mentally and in terms of time to get out of there. And besides many people in low gold would never really get there in Solo Queue !

2k ranked games? That's simply too much if you deserve your elo you WILL get there within 50-100 games at most

The problem is that people start doing ranked WAY too early. If you start playing ranked as soon as you are eligible, you will probably end up in B5. By the time you actual start getting good, your MMR is so screwed that it takes forever to make any real gains.

I know, it happened to me. Mechanically, I can hang with Plat players easily, but it's so easy to tilt when trying to climb due to your team being SO incompetent. That's what holds a lot of players back, not actual individual skill level.

I jumped into ranked as soon as I was able to. Ended up being placed S1, and got into gold promos a couple times, but could never make it (whether that was due to my performance or my team's, I donno. Was too long ago to remember). I went against a few plats (one particular Azir main with over 3k games on him in plat) and beat them too -- but then, I've been gaming since I was little. So picking up new games is second nature for me. :P

Mechanically, I can take on challengers and diamonds the same as I take on anyone else. If you dig through my history long enough, you'll find a game I played against Riot Rainslight playing Anivia (his main). Came out of lane 15/2. :P But I play against diamonds and plats regularly in flex queue, and I don't really notice much difference.

I like to think that if this game was 1v1 I'd be somewhere in plat, maybe low diamond, but I'll blame it on my team. :P I mean, I typically do well most games, but I do have my off games and off days.

I started playing on january 5th, and stopped playing rank of january 25th (when I hit gold V)

20 days, played about 30 or so games. Pretty much all as support soraka. y'know, that support champion that's stupidly team dependant unlike every other support that's being played now (cough Zyrabrandmalz cough)

like, I understand the game is a teamgame, but the elo hell debate was debunked ages ago. If you are consistent, then you will climb.

The honest truth is that at least 50% of the people in Diamond and Plat got carried there in a dual q. I play against diamond and plats in games with friends and their skills are definitely no better than mine half the time.

if you think I am a socialable person with friends and therefore has the capacity to duo Q, then unfortunately you are wrong

all games were done solo. all games also had autofill immunity and were queued with support/adc. The one renekton game I played (that was a loss) was because I lagged during champ select (with the new client) and locked in renekton when trying to lock in soraka- and for some reason my top laner was totally chill with playing karma support despite me asking them to lock in a support and having me trade roles.

You get placed in the eelo you belong in. It is only hard to climb out of it, if you are an unskilled player.

Work on improving your individual performance and stop relying on teammates. Your teammates are never going to have a brain until you are at least Diamond 3.

You do have to rely on your team, it's a team game. Yeah, you can climb easy enough IF you are way more skilled than anyone else in the game. It's just frustrating to a lot of players who should be Silver or Gold because it's really hard to climb out of Bronze since your skill level isn't high enough to make the climb easy.

A great analogy is Michael Jordan. He couldn't win jack until he got some good teammates around him.

The thing is in low elo, you can literally 1v5 every game easily if you have the skill. That's how you win in bronze. I was a gold level played and climbed accordingly, bronze 5 to gold 5 63% winrate.

Yes, you can do that in some games, but it's probably 20% max. There are quite a few really skilled players in Bronze who have trouble climbing because they tilt hard, are toxic to their team, don't understand macro play and objectives, etc. These guys are very good in the laning phase and it's very hard to snowball off of them. Then you also have smurfs and duo's that you have to deal with as well.

If you are good, yes, you will climb. But it's still a grind since 25% of the games you play are completely unwinnable no matter how good you are.

I dont really see elo hell existing for me. I am bronze 3 right now. I got placed in bronze 5 this season. I got to b3 within a few days. I havent been playing much ranked because of school or just wanting to play norms with friends. I bet if I play more I can get out pretty easily. Maybe I am lucky with my teams, or people are just over exaggerating how bad some players are. Players are just too bad to realize that they are bad, and that it takes time to be decent. Knowing this, it isnt and wasnt that hard to get out of the really low elo, now I just need to play more ranked and rank up. It isnt that hard, especially since most of the time your enemies are terrible as well.

Botlane is 0/10 by 15 min,mid is blind and does not roam,top feeds too and jungler (me)gets blamed by his teammates for not ganking.Yeah when u get a team like that its really hard to play

Idk dude I got this shit a lot in bronze. I still blew through bronze with a 85% winrate first time though (first season in ranked) and went through silver with a 65% winrate. I carried the games that seemed impossible. It honestly just takes simple brain usage to get out of bronze and silver.

I dunno, just had a game where I killed lane as Talon (Yasuo) but the Garen top on my team hit whatever was next to him and chased too many kills into the other team. Not to mention by 15 min our Xayah was 0/10. I fall off near the end so I noticed that we had a chance to pull off an inhib and maybe even a nexus turret (entire nme team chasing morg on bot lane), but Xayah (who was with me) as well as Garen decide to go and help her. Riven was already bot lane and she was the only other good player on my team. Because of this, we were unable to win 20 minutes in, despite me frantically pinging to focus objectives and notice that Morg was actually distracting the enemy team. You see, in Bronze, many players don't like to listen. My question is HOW THE HELL DO YOU MAKE PEOPLE LISTEN????
