I'm afraid the play solo Queue

The reason? The TLDR? Mainly because thanks to the new punishment systems you can't tell somebody what they are doing wrong or if they are doing something wrong, unless you want to get reported and barraged with comments against you in all chat saying you're a troll/rager ect.

The non TLDR:

First off, don't get me wrong I LOVE the fact that riot is taking aim and trying to fix toxicity in this game, as well as afks, trolls, ect.

However, the problem with they new system is riot is letting the community decide what's considered "toxic"; to a degree this is a good idea.

The problem with riots version of it though is that they are 100% letting the community decide what's toxic, meaning anything can get you reported as long as it offends at least one person in your games.

Now everyone has the common sense of what's truly toxic; homophobic phrases, racial slurs, deaths wishes; but what about the grey lines in between? How can we really know what we might get reported for when there is no clear cut set of rules beyond that?

How can I know if saying "hey bud you shouldn't dive the enemy turret like that" will get me labeled as a toxic player and get me reported. On top of that how do I know saying "fuck me" every time I die, won't label me as toxic? Hell Im afraid to have friendly banter with my team or the enemy because literally ANYTHING I say could be deemed toxic if somebody thinks " I don't like the word potato so I'm going to report him because the word potato triggers my phobia of potatoes and being bullied for identifying as potatokin"

Now you might say, oh just mute everyone turn all chat off and hope for the best. This would be true if there was a clear cut set of rules and I knew I wouldn't be punished for trying to help my team.

However nowadays anything can get you reported and now with the 4 tiered system, literally anyone can go into ranked, do terrible, and nobody can help them unless they want to take the risk of being labeled toxic

Case and point: played a game as lux support the other day with Lucian ADC and top was ryze. Ryze kept getting dove by Jax and was 0/3 5 mins in. Lucian told ryze, "hey ryze you gotta stop dying, if he dives you snare him" which I thought was some solid advice, however ryze flipped his shit, started mocking Lucian then they both started bickering.

Im not saying remove the system in place riot, I'm just pleading that you don't let this community, which right now is known as one of the most bitchiest, toxic, report happy communities, make the rules for you. Have a clear cut set of rules so I don't feel afraid to give somebody advice in game.

I agree with you. That's why unless I'm playing with friends, other than shotcalling I don't talk.

Someone can report you for anything, yes. But that doesn't mean that they are all considered valid by riot or the system, because they aren't.

None of the examples you gave would be anything remotely considered bad by the system.

I'm curious what makes you so afraid that you will be labeled toxic? Were you punished before for something you didn't think was toxic or what? I feel like most of these kind of fears stem from people hearing stories of toxic players lying about being not toxic.

"Stop feeding" and similar things are not useful feedback. They are put downs.

Telling someone not to feed implies that they are doing it on purpose and does not tell them anyway to stop it. Feeding is a matter of skill deficiency unless they are intentional feeding. If they were capable of not feeding in that situation they wouldn't have been feeding. If you would have said something like stop pushing, or stop diving. I also find people are much more receptive with you phrase things as a suggestion rather than a command.

Swearing in and of itself is not against the rules so in that case you wouldn't be punished in your example anyway. You are right that the system doesn't know exactly what thing you were reported for. But it doesn't just assume all reports are valid. If you were the only person ever reported that said the word potato it would not be considered negative thus the report would be considered invalid and thrown out. Yes you could get punished if you said other negative things even if someone reported you for something that wasn't considered valid but is that really a problem?
