The "new" sublcass lingo

I'm a HUGE fan of this new nomenclature. I've always been bothered by people who claim LeBlanc is a mage, or that Yasuo is an assassin. It's relieving to know that Riot thinks the same as I. Do you think the community as a whole will begin using the new jargon? Stuff like "We really need a vanguard for engage" or "Lel you only play skirmishers, what are you, 14?" If so, how far off are we from achieving this?

Leblanc not a mage? She uses mana, has cc, ranged, uses AP, relies on skills. idk

LB is definitely an Assassin. Mages don't look to kill single targets, they zone/do AOE damage/peel. All of the criterion you mentioned for determining if a champion is a mage can be applied to champions who aren't mages (Volibear uses mana, Alistar has CC, Vayne is ranged, Kayle uses AP, Renekton relies on skills). That's why classifying champions based on playstyle, rather than outward qualities, is more succinct.
