They attack Christians for passively disagreeing with same sex marriage and then defend Muslim nations that execute all homosexuals. Police doing their jobs are criminals, and the criminals that threaten police lives are heroes. The person standing up for what is right is always the one in the wrong and the instigator, attacker, and terrorist is defended.

Then people with the same ideals try to mitigate a video game community and you get thousands of players being banned for defending themselves, or simply saying what is true and right, while trolls that seek to ruin games are defended. They ban every person who refuses to be walked all over, and actual toxic trolls continue to ruin games.

This entire nation and league community walk on egg shells trying to make sure we aren't targeted by those that seek to oppress, knowing that those in charge choose to defend the criminals and punish anyone who wont.

Okay dude, Ive never seen Christian under attack on this sight. I have seen people spur those from saying homphobic remarks. Also they ban those that attack back with even worse remarks. Im guessing you got banned for something and believe it is your god given right to lash out against those that attack you with even worse retorts.

Sorry, i realize that using world events to relate to the game may be confusing to those who have a hard time understanding comparisons.

No I get comparison, thats easy, but a better comparison is like If you stand up to a bully and then you get in trouble, Not christians getting in trouble for defending their homophobic views. We have enough people expressing their politcal views already, so we don't really care when they use it to defend themselves. If my teacher yells at me for defending my point about grammar in class Im not gonna yell "you stupid liberal whore, Ef you for going against my views.

Thats vaguely similar to a player coming into a game trolling HOPING someone will rage on him so he can report them and get them banned.

The law should tell both instigators to shut their mouths and punish them for causing trouble where no trouble was needed. Not praise them and punish their victims.

I get what you're saying and I am saying the focus is all wrong. When riot is more focused on punishing the people who are fed up with troll crap then actually removing the trolls, you have yourself a losing system.

If someone is only "negative" when they are trolled, why dont we work on getting rid of trolls?

It's like when criminals are constantly getting shot by people with concealed carry permits and we spend all our time and energy trying to remove guns from these people so that people will stop dying. How about locking up the friggin criminals and they wont be getting shot for their crimes.

The focus is wrong, and it is a consistent mindset from these types of people.

There are countless instances of trolls instigating people, ruining games, and then the player who says something as offensive as "please report x for trolling" gets banned instead. Its the result of ideologies that defend the ones in the wrong and persecute those who stand against them.

Ill agree that riot wants you to mute, report, and move on, and that this strategy isnt great, but alot better to just verbally attacking the rager who just wants to make you feel worse. Its not Liberals, Humanists, or any of that stuff, Its just a view point of dont fight a rager. Also they hate when people demand a report because usually people just keep repeating it the whole game.

If you troll an entire game and somebody eventually gets upset enough to ask others to report you, who should get punished? Is this even an argument!? I don't get it..... However, AT LEAST also punish the troll ffs. But i guess if this was common thinking, there wouldnt be memorials for michael brown and the like while people burning their own towns down to prove that cops are the bad guys....

If you're bashing on, insulting, belittling, berating, or harassing another player, you aren't "defending" yourself from that player. You're attacking them in return - in other words, retaliating.

This carries over to the real world as well - if a person is punching you, and you break their arm, you didn't "defend" yourself from that person. You attacked them in return.

When your physical body is under genuine attack, there is a case to be made for retaliation as a form of self-defense - but even then, it's rarely (if ever) the best option available. And that's not the case in-game, anyway. The only thing under attack there is a relatively small amount of your time.

However, i wouldn't have as much of a problem if those causing the problem were punished as well.

If you're on a road trip and your brother plays "I'm not touching you" until you get pissed enough to hit him, who should get punished?

You're right, though, in implying that it shouldn't be an argument, because any authority figure will tell you the same: the answer is both. Him for acting like a jerk and irritating you, and you for hitting him.

I don't remember the time they burned down cities because mob bosses were being persecuted, or when they plastered pictures of Al Capone when he was 12 all over the media to make him look innocent, or when they wanted to lock up police officers for arresting mafia. But i guess maybe im just remembering wrong.
