For all those smurfs abusing weaker players, or plain mistakes by matchmaking system.

I would just like to add...that being a smurf gives you virtually NO advantage when you're playing with low elo players. I say this because I recently started a smurf account where my runes and masteries were reset back to 0...If anything I have LESS attack damage then the average player because I'm too lazy to 'experiment' with my runes because i already have 4 full rune pages on my other account...with that being said...I can hit my skill shots better and perhaps calculate my approximate death when 1v1ing a laner better then the average noob BUT...I'll be honest, the noobs kick my ass sometimes and I was placed into silver out of my promos last season when i started...at noob level they put me at silver...please...dont report/blame the smurfs for being smurfs....they just have a little better calculation then you and THATS IT. and that will come with practice. I've been playing for 2 years now. lol. dont rage at the smurfs

So, you're saying that it is okay if some challenger player makes a smurf and levels it to level 30 against low leveled players (these days half of them are smurfs..), just because they don't have runes as well?

BlackHorizon381 votes

Hell yeah its 'okay'. Why would it not be okay for a person to make a new account on their favorite game?

I disagree with people using smurf accounts to own noobs. However, I'm a smurf because my current account is banned. I play the same way that i would on my old account, sometimes i carry my team and go 28/5 with akali, and sometimes i go 0/7 as sivir adc. smurfs are not as higher skilled with a raw account as you may think. as long as youre not a complete noob who is just learning how ALL of the champions health scales with the different damage combo's and such...a smurf is just someone who understands the game well...practice and play with them, time them, learn from them...and understand that you cant fault a player for starting a different account up...i just dont think it makes much sense.

Not raging or hating, and that report is OBVIOUSLY not intended to be an aggression to the target (HOW can one possibly believe that having a too high or low MMR is punishable?), it's just tellig to Riot "hey, you did poop here on matchmaking" but it should be allowed to be used on too good players too.

Isn't playing against a smurf a good thing? Forgive me, but I'm just putting out my opinion. It would be nice to play with a smurf. You'd learn how to fight against a better and more skilled player instead of fighting against players that have the same skill level as you where you would probably learn nothing. I really don't mind playing against smurfs since I do learn from them, but I can understand that it would be unfair to have a high skilled player against your team.

The thing that i see from it was when i was playing when i was low level or when i used to play on my smurf account (it's for when i play with friends who are lower level then me) you'll get more people who are obvious smurfs saying stuff like "oh lol your team sux get rekt im ranked silver 3 losers" and then when you kill them "oh my god you are such a hacker, your not even good your just hacking you sux otherwise lol." when they are trying to solo baron with no life steal....

PickleBabah3 votes

There's playing against higher skill levels, and then there are just people who abuse smurf accounts to be toxic d*cks.

Who cares about learning, this is not a sport, this is entertainment. What kind of entertainment is facing someone who manages to kill you at 3 minutes and then manages that advantage much better that you could ever do, basically giving you 3 minutes of actual game over 40 since after that you're completely powerless?

Havenscythe4 votes

Ummm yeah.... I was playing the other day and twice I was matched with someone who wasn't even level 30 yet and I felt kind of bad.

EL HAMSTERO3 votes

its a good idea but it wouldn't work right. the game is too snowbally. i have gone 19-1 and then 0-7 the very next game in ranked. so i guess i should be reported overskilled then unskilled on the next one?

Photos of Ghosts2 votes

The game being too snowbally is another problem. If you fuck up 3 minutes in it's over for the next 40 minutes.

Lmfao. I dont understand riot's matchmaking system at all. I genuinely belive that i play at a higher level than the elo im at. http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1853774948/47131763?tab=builds. I'm only silver 4 nd i dont think they should move me to diamond or anything, but i do believe they need to look at how they rank players. Instead of determining rank (for solo Q) by wins, it should be determined by in game stats. like farm, objectives taken, deaths, and kills etc.. i dont always go 32/3 with Yasuo , but i do paly really well and get good grades (from the grader thing in the after game menu) averaging from A- to S+. like wtf why am i getitng matched with ppl who dont know what they are doing.... can anyone explain to me why?

Yeah, rank using the new champion mastery.

Probably because being able to snowball a game to absurd levels =/= consistently winning the game. To be honest you should pretty much always win before you get to the point of being 19/1 - letting it drag on so long is just asking for a comeback.

T RexHasTinyArms3 votes

I'm curious what you think about this but I find at least 50% of the games I lose that I did really well in probably could have been won if I didn't make a few mistakes later. I tried watching replays of some of my games and this is something I found. Not all games are this way obviously, but sometimes I get ahead and don't spread that lead to my team, or don't push objectives and end and eventually the enemy comes back, or sometimes just am the most fed on the team and get caught out mid/late game and my team gets crushed bc they suck without me compared to the other team's strength/gold lead if you don't count me.

Also what would you say about comeback plays? I can think of a half dozen games where my lane went bad and my score isn't great, but I team fought really well and helped the team win for sure. It is just my opinion, but at least for me I think learning how to apply pressure and turn leads into wins was even harder for me than improving my ability to win lane. Of course I'm not that good so it may be different at my low elo. I just hit promos for gold and failed it bc I struggle to win my lane as consistently against the people in low/mid gold that I'm paired against now.

Honest answer, a.k.a. The Truth, a.k.a. Things you probably won't like hearing:

Because the why is the same as every other player who thinks they are leagues better than everyone else in the game they were matched in, you don't know enough about the game to actually know how well or how poorly you are doing. You can pick out random things you don't think your teammates are doing right and spotting them makes you think you are better than them, but your lack of expertise and, of course, bias prevents you from seeing your mistakes and that you don't know what you are doing either. Proving this:

{quoted}

it should be determined by in game stats. like farm, objectives taken, deaths, and kills etc... [I] get good grades (from the grader thing in the after game menu)

The fact that you think that these numbers on the end game screen show anything about how well you played, especially the broken grader, demonstrate how much you don't get about this game. Things like KDA are next to meaningless, the number on the endscreen tells nothing about what happened in the game or how anybody played.

xxijonesixx1 votes

One never said the grader thing was perfect. 2 i didnt let the game drag on, i just killed everybody so fast while pushing objectives. If u also look at my match history, it wasnt just one snow-bally game, i play on that level consistently with multiple champions. i know plenty about the game, as i value objectives over kda. jsut saying they should take stats like that into account instead of wins.

So 5 people will be reporting the other 5 people every game? And the point of this is.....? Because obviously five people are more skilled than the other five because they won and the other guys lost... logic, right? Sounds like reporting for reports sake because reports...

Vistha Kai1 votes

Plot twist: "Unskilled" doesn't work in ranked.

Photos of Ghosts1 votes

If you're saying that by looking at my match history, you could go a step further and give a look at the date of my last ranked game to understand how much I care about ranked.

Vistha Kai3 votes

I usually don't bother checking people's divisions.

Doesn't matter how you rework "Unskilled/Overskilled" it won't change anything, since a smurf is on 31st level. He will always "ruin" somebody's day until he reaches whatever level he has on his main.

Troy2426211 votes

I think the Unskilled Player report is more for catching ELO boosters than anything. If someone is in Diamond then consistently loses 90% of their games, it's very clear what happened.

The Ellimiist1 votes

I honestly don't think that option does anything to start with and to be honest would be better if we just get teambuilders minor per role adjustment. For example if I play almost all my games jungle, some of my games support and mid but im forced to top lane and I do poorly, does that make me unskilled overall? Probably not, just makes me unskilled at one role.

Same with overskilled, you might think im smurfing but in reality im just playing my best champion

Photos of Ghosts1 votes

It does things, it's a feedback to Riot on matchmaking.

The Ellimiist1 votes

Im sure riot is well aware of the true problems with matchmaking though. That some guy who mains adc ends up playing yasuo first time mid and going 0/10 doesn't mean he's unskilled overall though.

Commander Simmon1 votes

Isn't unskilled player just a placebo report

Photos of Ghosts1 votes

No, it's a feedback on matchmaking.
