Duo Q restrictions

Ok, so the restriction on not being able to duo Q with people too much higher or lower has been around for some time now, and Im curious is Riot is happy with the result. Speaking from personal experience, I am no too happy with it. I am currently a Plat member, but I have friends, which and played for a while now, and purchased in game items such at skins and champs to play with me. Now, I cant play with them unless it is normals, and lets be honest, normals on this game is pretty much a troll pit. Not a good place for people who take that game seriously to be forced to play. Just curious.
