Just got a 10 game chat restriction plus a loss of Honor because I had a troll on my team.

So I haven't played League in a while, and I never really understood the honor/reporting system even when I did play, but I just received a chat restriction because the Ezreal on my team decided to steal my lane. Of course I was upset, the team wouldn't /ff even though Ez was clearly trolling and the game was over.

I proceeded to push bot lane until the game was over, and after logging in just now I get hit with a chat restriction.

I honestly don't care about the honor because I don't really understand the point of it, but how can this game still not have a viable way to handle trolls in the game. I was force to play nearly 30 minutes of a non fun, nearly unwinnable game because you aren't allowed to leave games, and my team wouldn't /ff. So I get punished?

Interesting system you got here Riot. Maybe you need to train your community and not your COO in how to not be a terrible person.

Well, no, you got a 10 game chat restriction and a loss of honor because you said something which violates the rules. Doesn't matter if someone was trolling. "He started it," is never a defense to Riot. They don't believe in reasonable reactions.

Just don't type. That's all you can do. The rules are intentionally vague enough to slam you no matter what you say, and no matter what it's in response to.

It may not be fair. In may not be just. But it is how it is, and just because the gulag isn't right doesn't mean they won't send you to it.

Yeah no, it's not the troll's fault. It's your OWN fault for lack of self control when it comes to typing. All you gotta do is report at the end of the game, sure you're gonna suffer 20-30 mins but would you rather do that than to risk getting banned for attempting to flame him and get a chat restriction or up to a 14 day ban for repeated offenses?

no, you got 10 game CR because you flamed. Just because there is a troll on your team doesn't mean you can be a dick to your other teammate(s) who are not trolls by enduring your flaming poop on top of the trolling.

Maybe you need to learn personal accountabilities and responsibilities.

If your position was stolen, report it in game and if you feel like it through a Riot Support ticket. It isn't fun when someone makes your game less fun but you have to contain your emotions anyways. Just like real life things do not always go as planned, and you don't get to say anything you want with no consequences.

So all the previous posts say that I handled it poorly and that is why I got the restriction, and while that may be true on some level, its Riots poor system that keeps me trapped in a game with trolls. I would have been more than happy to leave the game and start a new one with a team that doesn't include a troll, but the system doesn't allow you to start a new game. Instead it forces you to waste your time dealing with trolls, and doesn't expect toxicity to be the result?

In a real world scenario I could have simply walked away, but that isn't an option here as AFKing will get you a significantly worse punishment. The only option Riot gives a player being trolled is to shut up and deal with it, or else get punished. I really don't care if the troll gets punished, the chances of me ever running into him again are very small. I care about the 30 minutes I wasted in a game that wasn't any fun without the option for leaving.

Its a bad system that has now forced my into muting all communication in a team game for fear of being further punished.
