Why has gaming gone down hill since 2011-13?

Please don't take down. Where has gaming gone? What happened since these games came out that made games such shit as they are now?

This is probably a post for Reddit, but I'd like to share since this includes League. I miss Season 3/4. Everything has turned to who gets the early tower first and OP champs wins.

There's many more out there that I have not mentioned, and of course people will have differing opinions.

CoD has gone to shit Halo has gone to shit Elder Scrolls has gone to shit Far Cry has gone to shit LEAGUE has gone to shit RUST has gone to shit Assassin's Creed has gone to SHIT (especially after watching that horrific movie) *etc Please, developers. Go back to you roots and discover what you all have long lost.

A good 80% of these are old as fuck. Only 10-30% of these satisfy a fast-paced game, the rest are CASUAL AS FUCK, like Football Manager, TF2, GMod, Civ, Fallout, L4D.

Of course, not everybody wants a fast-paced game. That's a big reason I like League and liked the unpopular Black Ops 3. I would LOVE to play Titanfall 2, but there's only 2000-3000 people playing Titanfall 2 on PC after Christmas, so I figure it's not worth buying.

There's no intriguing stories like AC2, Far Cry 3, Skyrim, etc. Everything has become bland and plain stupid. Far Cry 4 you're just some random guy with 0 personality who got caught in a civil war. Far Cry 3, the character was a rich young kid on vacation, and a life changing event happened (basic story building), he and his friends were captured and he slowly turned from a pussy into a psychopathic killer who seemed to enjoy killing by the end of the game.

Try a single player game, not a multiplayer game? Gaming hasn't gone to shit competitive gaming has. I recommend so good old rpg's like Chrono Trigger(there's a reason it won best rpg of the year for 5 years in a row.) Star Ocean's 1-4(haven't played 5, and no 3 did not rip off the matrix, it was actually the other way around as admitted by the matrix' creator) Harvest moon, rune factory. Play a game where you're not competing against other players and you're just having fun, it takes off loads of stress, and single player games are where the good stories are at, and games with good stories? Try Final Fantasy, any of them tbh, even the spinoff's have great stories, and though people rant at the later ones, the quality really hasn't gone down(minus the mmo ones of course, although ARR is pretty awesome) Again, just to reiterate, gaming hasn't gone to shit, there's plenty of great games out there, the problem is that all the shitty games are mainstream right now, so you have to look at different Genres in order to find anything ith real quality. Oh and also, League's still on top based on player bases, it's just not on steamso it's unlisted there.

It'll be very hard for gaming to go back to its roots. It's become a system of churning out either low-effort moneymakers or "muh story" games that sacrifice gameplay to appeal to bandwagoning masses. These aren't one time things, they will stick around for a long time since a lot of things contributed towards making it like this today. The only games that surprised me lately was Let It Die and XCOM2, which handle just about everything well plus gameplay.

But how was Black Ops 2 a downfall of anything? Do you say that because the zombies was shit? It absolutely was the worst of their other three games but I'd argue Treyarch at least put in the effort for their recent multiplayer and it resulted in some pretty impressive design shifts, plus they actually care about fun gameplay mechanics and I'd say it's clear they actually put effort into their games, especially for what they are and their stereotypes.
