You forgot the eventual losing streak of afk's and feeders you get after losing a series, causing you to drop a division before you can start winning again.
I feel your pain man, I've gotten demoted I think once or twice this season from afks. Oh boy I could be on gold by now :D
All feeders, inters and trollers always await me for me promos, that's why I don't even bother with ranked anymore. It gets old when you repeatedly reach a promotion just to get utterly fucked by "variance" every, single, fucking, time. And if it's not that you're supposed to carry a full row of low golds/silvers against a full row of low-mid plats with premades because yah, you know play "with" plats and against plats to enter plat.

It's elo hell. That's part of it. People who say elo hell doesn't exist are wrong. It's always there.
You can get out of any elo by just spam playing the game, but if you want to sacrifice your life to climb ranks in a video game, you need to recheck priorities.

Yeah the whole thing is a sham. Their are tons of games out there with far better ranked systems. For instance, any halo game or call of duty game, rocket league (the list goes on) but the idea isn't to create better players. The idea is to keep the popular players, popular. If new players were able to pop up and contest the popular professional players constantly than they would not be able to market them properly.
The idea that league is a special game (when compared to other games) where only a select few people in the world are capable of playing well is absurd beyond all measure. You mean to tell me that out of roughly 800k ranked players only 500 of them are considered good enough at the game? Really?
The solution is simple. Get rid of mmr completely and add another bracket. Then just place people purely based on there rank. If your b5 then you play with other b5's; keep your lp system the same but only base it on win loss.
The idea that the creators of the game have any real idea about what wins games is silly. They hand our mmr like candy for assists like its not hard to grab a wu-kong and go 2/10/30 and completely throw the game for your team. These guys at riot aren't good league players. There cs nerds who think that they know how to play the game because they were involved in its creation. Which is an absolutely preposterous notion. That's like assuming Josh McDaniels should be able to strap on pads and go take care of everything for Mr. Brady.
Also give us a solo queue please. Give us a queue where we will never, ever, see two people queuing together. Letting people team up and play with people who aren't on teams is... well.. dumb.
Whenever i get in promo the first game is kinda easy, the others are a living hell. Literally in my last promo i lost 2 consecutive games because of 1 afk in each game. And do you know what's the best part? Where you check their fking match history and you see that in his last 5/6 games he always went afk, like for real why are these people still allowed to play ranked with so many consecutive leaves? FFS.
Also i couldn't remake because they connected for half a second in the first 3 minutes.

I was in my promos back to b3 for a few weeks. Constantly I had some serious BS or I was faced against people in silver (even though silver isnt good, having to face them as a b3 isn't super easy). I wish that promos were made to give you the best possible games, not the exact opposite.
The best part is after my promos i got on a 7 game win streak. Best matchmaking ever riot.
The best is when you have a duo who are playing ranked for the first time. As the jungler I flame horizoned both of them before 20 minutes which I didn't think was possible (while still having a 60% kill participation.) Their lane opponent had over triple their cs and they couldn't figure out why they couldn't win duels.
There are legit so many boosted ass fucks in this game. it really can fuck up matchmaking. it's annoying as hell when someone with a plat 1 border shows up in ur game and they're total garbo.
I can agree with this, I've been stuck in gold 2 for about 1 month. Everytime I hit my promos, either one of two things would happen. My client would stop working and thus I would dodge giving me a loss or lose the next game due to someone not grouping, bad baron call, etc.
... said no one ever.
Promos as a concept are toxic because they're asking a 75% winrate to climb, even all the way down in B5.

That's one of the main reason why I barely play League anymore. I get matched with dynamic boosted 13 year olds constantly and I don't have the time or patience currently to spam ranked like a madman to play with people my equal thanks to the MMR system being garbage.
Word of advice: 7 days to die is a great game atm and it's almost always on sale on Steam.
