Riot, "counterplay" is not enabling the enemy to chose if they want stunned.

And that is the only way that Veigar can stun. If the enemy is dumb and walks into it. Where is the counterplay from Veigar's standpoint? "Put stun here and hope they are dumb enough to walk into it"??

Veigar's stun is no longer an instant' hey look everyone's stunned' it's now a zoning tool with a very hefty consequence. If I block off an entire path with a stun zone and that stun zone separates the enemy team in half... guess who is most likely to win the teamfight?

Just because a skill works differently doesn't mean its useless... it just means the use case has changed. Learn how to use it, don't just complain that you can't use it the way you used to.

With Veigar you simply place it on the center of a champion and unless they dash or use a movement speed buff, they will get stunned.

well 1, there are plenty of abilities like this, sion's stun, xerath Q, pantheon ultimate. the point is to make it harder to use solo, so you can't just WEQR instakill everything. while it is still an aoe stun where if you get caught there's a good chance you're dead, it's harder to use. you have to be smarter about how you use it. leona E's an enemy, well that lasts about .25 seconds, and her stun is about 1 second, so if i WE the enemy right when i see leona E, my stun should land, forcing the enemy team to follow up or let poor little annie die via meteor shower. it's not really them being dumb enough to walk into it, it's about making it so it must be used wisely, and not just placed willy nilly every 12 seconds.
