Reward the positive players in toxic games

Honestly, in my opinion, the most positive players are the ones who stay positive when there is a toxic player on the team. Rewards need to be handed out to players that are positive in negative circumstances.

Since most toxicity is an escalation of a supposed offense, we should be rewarding players that don't let thing escalate for them.

What i think should be done is in any game where one player was verified as toxic by Riots system, every other team mate that didn't get reported as toxic should receive an ip bonus of some kind. This would motivate people to stay positive instead of retaliating when provoked, which is probably the biggest issue that i notice.

That rewards the wrong kind of behavior. Being positive should be the norm, it should not be something super special. A treat every once in a while is great, but constantly being rewarded for doing something you should be doing anyway defeats the purpose.

Incorrect. Being rewarded for not retaliating when someone spends an entire game making your life hell deserves reward. That's one of the main issues right now, you are expected to just sit there and take abuse game after game with no compensation while trolls go free. What is the drawback in rewarding people for making games better?

Because you may as well reward children for going to school. Or reward people for taking care of their pets. That's the exact same line of logic.

But my child kept making fun of how bald I was and I didn't rise to the occasion and break his ugly nose, I'm pretty sure the government OWES me??

You're missing a key element. I chose to play a game and consume an entertainment service provided by a company making money by my presence. If they tell me i have to sit there through games with raging morons cursing me out all game without the option to leave, they should reward me for that.

Why? Because i'm playing through a game meant for fun that was not fun because of their negligence to take care of toxic people. So yes, they ought to reward me for not abandoning their business. When did we get the notion that Riot is some kind of charity and i should be glad they even let me play?

Around the same time that LoL became free to play. Seriously. You're really not entitled to anything. You are playing their game for free. If you don't like it, feel free to walk away. Otherwise, just suck it up like the rest of us.

Also, not sure why you think toxic people get away, when every day you see threads from people asking why they were banned.

I'm playing their game for free? I've spent more on this game than any other game i have ever played. Get outta here with your bull. Riot isn't giving anything away, they are raking in more cash than you can imagine. What a joke.

See, that's YOU spending money. Show me a single instance where Riot said "Pay us or you can't play this game." Just one. You gave them money voluntarily. It has nothing to do with your ability to play the game.

You are rewarded for attending and completing school... There's also a difference in something you have to do, and something you do to pass time. Riot has rewarded people before with an icon+free rp and a free skin, and even now the gold+ rewards are given to people with positive behavior as people have had their rewards taken away for extreme toxicity. I also believe Lyte talked about continuing to reward people who are positive in small ways as they have before. Staying calm in a hostile environment isn't really "normal" as it's perfectly human to respond negatively in a hostile environment, as such, it makes sense for Riot to continue rewarding players who can consistently play games without releasing their frustration on their allies or defending themselves when being abused.

As I said, rewards here and there are fine. That's how it should be done. Having it become a consistent thing completely ruins the value of it. It no longer becomes a reward for being positive. You're just asking for people to go "Hey, report this guy on our team, and we'll report that guy on your team?" making matters worse.

i believe the reward in system is the honor system...

if people chose not to use that i guess its riots fault for failing to implement it, but i find the players i do play against (mainly bot and aram as riot has stated) with ribbons do tend to be the nicest most amiable ones..... someone tries to go double mid with them, they wonderfully change their build to support and go bot where the other person was suppose to go... need help, yup... they tend to know a thing or 2 about lol and whats more they tend to share that info friendly... yup.... i honor the people i play with who are nice, polite, and/or supportive of the team

i hope to get a green ribbon one day but i dont expect it, it is rare, i think lyte said something like maybe 10% of the millions of players who play lol...

Cool! Let's accidentally get a teammate killed so he rages and I can report him. I get IP for it!
