she is a demon... and where that is an evil symbol it is not necessarily suggestive of anything. It is a symbol, where as a cigar is not a symbol especially when the character is supposed to be a protagonist type character and he is smoking, it promotes it sub consciously.

its the idea of him smoking a cigar versus the emblem vi has ( 666 or vi vi vi ), idea versus symbol ( not symbolic, that is different from a symbol, adjective versus noun with that one ) he is doing something harmful, ilegal for anyone under 18 to do and just wasteful. Where 666 is purely an old wives tale of something that represents something demonic. Think of it as he is SMOKING (verb) a cigar where 666 is just an emblem (noun or idea).

words on paper dont imply things like physically having a conversation. for instance "i hate you" depending on the context being used could mean 2 things, one positive one negative, with out context people have to assume. point being no context or visual or vocal ques to signal its a joke.
