What did you use to play ? 
This little gem can save you from his ulti after he cast it if you time it well.
sivir and nocturne does it very well.
Its absurd he gains AP just for landing his Q. Literally the dumbest change ever. Imagine if Nasus got a stack every time he auto attacked or Sion got HP just for hitting a minion, so dumb.
