Some do, but at least that is voluntary. You HAD to pay for a subscription on WoW back when I played.
I liked warlords (Orc model updates were the best) but I found myself not liking the end game content.
I played WoW for like a week when I was 7, loved it, but my mother made me cancel.
Been playing a WoW private server for over 2+ years now, but I have rarely been on the past few months.
As I said in the old thread, started in december of 04 when I was 11, a month after it came out. I mained a hunter, was pretty bad until about wrath. I became fairly popular on my server (had its ups and downs) and I made soloing video guides. I also made a guide on the hunter forums which is still stickied there. I quit a few months after the release of MoP, bot because it became a bad game or anything, I had just played it for 9 or so years.
I played WoW all the way from Vanilla to the currect WoD, but i quit the game 2 years ago as blizzard made their game have the skill cap of a 12 year old, and ruined guilds as well as raiding and dungeons, LFR, and LFG ruined any hard part of raiding and dungeons, part of the fun was forming your own group and then running there, now you just queue up and BOOP, your instantly there. WoW used to take weeks to level to the max level, and months to get gear, now you can be max level in a day, literally, a day, at most 2 days, and you can just purchase max level now, as well as buy gold through the wow tokens which used to be completely bannable, but now blizzard made it were it profits them, so it's completely okay now lmao. There is no more grind, no more hardness, nothing, you jump into the game and feel like you've always played it. For us vets of WoW that pisses us off....
WoW is still the best giant mmo i can ever play, when i play others i just find myself going "wow is so much better than this, this world just doesn't engulf me or make me feel like i'm in a giant new world". But that being said, i can't bring myself to play WoW atm because it's been the same content for a few years now, i refuse to dailies every single day do raids that i already got all the gear i can get from just for the hell of it. Iv'e never like how blizzard forces their players to suffer no content updates upwards to 3-4 even 5 years before an expansion comes out, and then when they don't fix bugs for that long as well, it makes me wonder what my subscription really pays for, certainly not just the damn servers.
I'll play again in Legion, but until then, not a chance lmao, I just hope they learn from their last 3 expansions and make the game a little harder again, LFG, LFR, Heirlooms, Buy max level, buy gold, all of this made the game so fucking easy and boring. I really hope they also restore the Nostalrius realm which is a vanilla realm, it had over 1 million players, and it got shut down. If blizzard makes their own vanilla server, i would be more than glad to start playing again no matter what the current game looks like.
Started at the release of Wrath of the Lich King. I don't like the PvP or Dungeon system but the solo questing is just amazing for me. Plus by my name it's easy to tell I have played it.
