Not necessarily. Copying a build isn't bad in and of itself. You don't have to make something yourself to be able to use it.

I think it's more like "why are you playing this game if you just wanna copy the build" There are other games that are more mechanically challenging if you like pulling off combos and outplaying opponents. Adapting build and trying different things is half the fun.

Unless you are an ADC main, then 90% of the times you want to always build the same stuff, at least before the marksmen changes come.

That's true, but most of the time you want to alter your build to who you're facing.

Though, that changes little for some roles.

It feels like if people copy a build they won't counterbuild or build items for each situation, I see a lot of players do stuff like that even without pro player builds.

What's fun is when the other team assumes you don't counter-build.

Played Sivir mid once VS Veiger and WW jungle. Rushed Scimitar. 1st gank: Veigar Stun Sivir spell shield Warwick ult Sivir item 3139 Warwick "WTF. You can't spell shield twice." Sivir "Look at items." Warwick "%$@%^&*"

Personally, I loved the logic people used with pre-rework Lucian. "They build TF on OGN, that proves it's OP!" TF procs on towers. OGN meta revolved around poking towers. In every other scenario, AR pen build was mathematically superior. "But it's not used by the pros." {facepalm}

How does Blue Ez do more damage than a manamune triforce Ez? Iceborne does 75% less base AD damage, and bork doesnt give as much AD to his spells. also, giving him useless attack speed. Rather get a BT and heal for 300 hp per q and auto attack

Fortunately for you, I'm an Ezreal main. Does it do more damage? Maybe, maybe not, since you're throwing out more spells and therefore getting out more spellblade procs, maybe. Blue build is a looooot cheaper than the traditional ADC build, so odds are unless obscenely fed you'll be putting out more DPS mid-game with the Blue Build.

saw a dude and with literally ever single character that had ANY moves building on AP, he build RoA... me and my buddy main Xin Zhao, my buddy's gotten penta kills with Xin... we were telling him how he should build and this mofo went and put RoA on Xin because his w scaled off AP. When i asked him why he was building RoA his quote "Rod of ages OP"

Now can AP Xin be OP AF? yes, a good AP Xin is Broken, but a first time Xin who doesn't know the combo's or the order on how to level up his abilities... well it didn't turn out well

I half agree with this.

It's wrong if you follow it strictly.

It gives you an idea how to build and what you should aim for.

Unfortunately people follow it to strictly and don't ever understand why. Like why was Varus mid a huge thing? Most people just saw a pro take Varus mid and then copied it thinking they would just break meta and win. Pro's usually have a reason in their premade 5 team and a strategy for why they do things, but that usually gets over looked.

Copy builds honestly are a good start, provided you look at more than a couple of the guides out there. It gets you an idea on a champ you might not know, which is better than going blind.

The point of this is that, if you're going to play the copycat role that much, at the very least actually copy everything and not just the build. They can get the build with wards, so can the copycat.

Wtf are you talking about? There's no reason to break the item meta for the sake of breaking the item meta. If I see that every pro is building IE; Shiv; Greaves; BT; LW; Def. Item, does that mean I should rush Mercurial Scimitar because I'm playing the game wrong by building what they do?

I just copy pro builds for Gnar as I kind never knew what to build first on him and I never had too much success with what I was trying to rush first, so I just used Guides to learn and then improve

If you're going to Jungle at least buy sight stone so that in between your useless attempts to wade through the 5 billion wards bot lane and gank the ADC and supp - or kill the 5K HP top laners with 5 billion forms of sustain - you can plant wards to create a trail of income to slow down the gold starved supports that chase you around the map to counter gank you while their ADC afk farms bot lane for 20 minutes so that you can possibly help us make their mid laner blow cooldowns without the support showing up in time to heal bot them or CC everyone for 10 seconds so we can take their mid turret and finally take map control and starve them of objectives, jungle and vision and force a win.
