Honestly, FIX THE GODDAMN CHAT RESTRICTION SYSTEM

I personally like the idea of an restricted chat as a tool of reformation - much more than a time ban that mostly accomplishes nothing. But. The problem lies in the automatisation of this - and the fact that people STILL spam reports that are not even valid. Write "dude, I told you stop going solo... see? That cost us the game now..." in the endscreen chat? Suddenly get a warning that you have been reported for verbal abuse.

Write "Ugh, can't carry this..." in the end chat (after you really tried to carry), get reported by the two feeders for insulted, even if you didn't even speak to them directly.

And my favourite: Writer absolutely nothing ingame, write "gg wp" in the all chat at the end of the game, suddenly get a warning for "Verbal Abuse". It just doesn't make any sense.

I just came out of 75 chat restrict games - and really, I had better things to do that flaming in these. Now I enjoyed some rather normal going games... and now, I can't even remember a game where I have been "toxic" (because if I could I wouldn't have been surprised). But still I'm on 75 games of restriction AGAIN.

Either you need to stop peole spamming reports for no reason OR you work over the automated system. I can't have my chat restricted all hame for nothing. As a jungler, I NEED it. (Also i need all-chat as singed to taunt my enemies to focus me. Taunting. Not insults, keep that in mind! I have to say it works quite nicely ^^)

Also, I heard you can send the support a ticket somehow if you think you got wrongly a restrict or ban... can someone show me how?

Am I the only one that sees the irony in complaining about being chat banned while using profanity, all caps, and blasphemy in the complaint?

So... "profanity"? Is "goddamn" a PROFANITY now? What is this? 1950? Comeon, it's a normal word xD Hmmm yeah, the caps might have been a bad move, but it fits to deliver the tone on how I'm feeling about it .

Also please explain what you mean with "blasphemy"...

"Damn" is a profanity yes. Generally considered unacceptable in the workplace, depending on where you work and who hears you say it can get you fired. Try not to use it in a service role directed at your customers for example.

Many (not me) people consider "god"+anything rude as " taking god's name in vain" which is one common definition of blasphemy.

In my main game a guild I'm in has one officer who moderates the chat so strictly that I got scolded for saying "pissed" and "bloody".

Remember with all vote systems like the chat ban, your intention, your feelings, my feelings don't matter. Just that other person who clicks the report icon after the match.

You might be teamed with someone who says motherfu*** more than Nikki minaj, or you might be teamed with some fundamentalist who gets offended at everything. No way to know. Because that's how random matchmaking goes.

And you yourself mentioned the game where all you said was gg and got reported. That's just someone straight up trolling you (or they meant to report someone else and you were just a mistake).

Which is why it is so frustrating. I totally know where you are coming from and it didn't offend me, I just thought it was funny. Frustrating to experience, but venting here is at least a safe place for it.

And again, I hope you didn't take my comment as a flame.

Lol you americans must have it hard xD I mean, I could translate "damn!" directly into german without the meaning changing by one bit and it would be a word everyone simply uses and no one cares xD Thinking that you could lose your job about this... you guys over there are weird xD

Well don't forget we're a melting pot so many people ehre ahve different definitions for the same thing. Japanese is a good language example since you can say the same thing but give it different meaning with inflection and tone. Soemthing that the internt sadly doesn't convery so while you might say something sarcastically someone on the other side of that chat might not get it that way.

Just remember that your target audience is from basically from Mars and you need to make sure they understand your what you're trying to say. Instead of saying you suck you dumbass say try playing more safely etc. There's way better ways to communicate something than to bash someone who's doing poorly. Team destructive behavior doesn't win games, it loses them sicne all that typing you're doing is less cs you're getting as adc, less gold you're getting and givng more cs and kills to the enemy team.

Japanese is a lot like western (latin-like, so yes, english too) languages in that it has a series of words that have really basic and specific function and allow to cut the sentence into logic groups. Chinese is a tonic language, where intonation matters in meaning. There's a reason if japanese had to add a few simple functional symbols to Chinese alphabet, while taking only a small part of all its ideaograms.

English is a confusing language.

Where I live if an angry man asks "you like beef?" And you answer "yes" expect to get punched, because he just challenged you to a fight and you accepted.

Back in California if an angry man asks "you like beef?" And you say "yes" expect a lecture on the virtues of the vegan lifestyle and how evil people like you are causing global warming.

If you're in Seattle and an angry man asks "you like beef?" And you say "yes", expect him to give you a rib eye steak that he bought and couldn't return to the store but doesn't want.

Like I said, English is a confusing language. There's a two hundred year old joke that America and England are two countries divided by a common language.

  1. Very few people actually go into games thinking "I'm going to do everything I can to screw my team over". Most start out wanted to win.

  2. If someone is struggling, odds are, they already know it. They don't need someone pointing out every flaw in their game play.

  3. Getting outplayed, due to either a superior opponent, or unfamiliarity with a champion, is not intentionally feeding. Some games, no matter what you do, you just can't keep up and even hugging the turret won't help.

Keep in mind you're playing with a bunch of strangers with no facial expression, tone of voice, or body language to give context to sarcasm, humor, honesty, or other modifiers to comments. What you type might be intended to helpful advice, but is read as a sarcastic insult. There's something called "Self-control". You might want to think about excersing it.

Punishments are not automated and not related to warnings. Warnings, as they pretty much state, just tell you you've been reported more than your personal trend. For an actual punishment, your chat has to be analysed and you have to be found guilty. The fact that it's not a human but a bot doing it, contrarily to popular belief, makes it more efficient, not less.

Warning, as well as Chat-Restrictions are both automated and tied to the report-system. Harder punishments, such as Ranked-Restrikts and bans are not, but chat restrict is. Read it up ^^

I'm not complaining about the warnings. They just tell me when I got reported in a game - something that's fascinating when you get a warning for "verbal abuse" but haven't said a word ingame.

I read it up over and over, no punishment is ever handed without chat analysis. And you get reported way more often than you get a warning. Also, the warning is not only based on several few games but also most of the time not triggered by the current game but rather one of the previous.

Reports are in fact weighted for individuals. If someone actually spam reports, they count for less and less. If an individual is getting repeatedly reported, there's only one common thread there.

There's still a minimum value how much a report can count - and if you have a LOT of butthurt people who report only because they had a bad game... well, it doesn't matter if their report is only half worth, in the end it's there.

Also, another fun scenario: game goes bad, team starts flaming? But not the ones who feed... nonono, those asre too busy flaming the out-of -meta pick that has OBVIOUSLY made them lose (and not the fact that the out-of-meta toplane has zero infloence on botlane going 0/20/0 in 15 minutes).

Got a nice report for "helping the enemy team", although I just picked a champ that was not "meta"...

Yeah, that's pretty annoying to get reported for champ select. I don't see much of what you're talking about in the games I play (bronze/unranked normals) so I can't speak much for how prolific undeserved reports are at higher elo ranked.

While this keeps away the "real" spammers (aka reports all team at the end of every game), this is some problems with people who think "Oh, I had a bad game, let me report that one guy I don't like." They simply don't spam enough to get that zero-value, and yet they are causing disrptions in the sytsem.

There is a minimum bound for report value: zero. In fact, players who insist on trying to abuse the report system after they hit zero weight can be banned.

But you're right. I imagine it's extremely rare. Of course, I'm pretty sure that genuine abuse of the report system is pretty rare in and of itself, so there's that, too.

yep. you WILL be reported by little kids in this game. the funny things is these types of players will most likely say something to you first being totally scapegoaty and abusive. but then you say one thing back even if it's a valid point you get reported and the eventual allchat "report XXY they are troll racist feeding flame toxic player verbal abuse please make him stop he's hurting me"

There's no need to say what you said. "I tried, but it wasn't enough," would be fine and probably similar to what you were thinking. What you said heavily implies that the rest of the team needed to be carried by you because they were bad. Even if they were bad, there is no reason to say so. It is an insult.

People can't handle truth and they are butthurt. That's why they report. Maybe I don't like getting shittalked all game? But no, kindly telling someone you muted them is already a reportable offense I FORGOT.

Oh, you would definitely be punished by the Tribunal. Take a look at the old cases if you ever get a chance. People talking like you frequently got punished. When the Tribunal returns, lobby chat is supposedly also to be included in the logs.

You know why you're reported? Because you're rude. You intentionally point out that other people are bad (which is completely unnecessary when they already have their stats in front of them), and then call them butthurt for being slighted. You insist that insulting them is not insulting and that it's their fault for thinking it. No. It is your callous nature that is the reason that you can't seem to avoid insulting people. That attitude will merely gain more reports and further restrictions.

Whether or not you're being insulted in game doesn't affect whether your statements are rude. Calling someone bad is rude regardless of whether the other person is rude. But go ahead and be an ass to people. If they're asses, you and they will get punished. If they're not being asses, you'll get punished. Either way, restrictions are working as intended.

Your opinion is not the standard by which the system measures.

That standard was generated based on hundreds of thousands of Tribunal cases.

Perhaps your time would be better spent trying to determine what you're doing that isn't in line with the community standards?

That doesn't follow. Weasel isn't a pejorative. Ice is an adjective describing an animal. There's no positive or negative connotation. What he said was that he couldn't carry, the connotation of which is that it was up to him because his teammates were bad.

Do you have some actual proof for your claims since pretty much everything we know so far and that Riot's said runs contrary to it.

. Multiple reprots per game don't matter, it's games reported that matter since 1 report per game is the same as 9 reports per game. It still only counts as 1 reported game.

. The chat scan system Riot's using is pretty smart and scans your chat logs for toxicity if you're reproted enough and in your case it's obvious you're guilty as charged.

. Riot does manual reviews in addition to the chat scan syste as well as audits of all bans/restrictions.

. You don't have any rights to flame people on here at all since this is Riot's game and they've made the rules of behavior clear. If you keep on getting punished it's because you decide to flame in chat not because someoe stranger said flame me. It's the old adage of 2 wrongs don't make a right that you were taught in kindergarten and you should've outgrown by 2nd grade.

.Reports spammers have no reproting weight since their reports are worthless and the system just throws them in the trash even if the report might've ben valid.

.Your arguments here show that the only one that can't handle the truth here is you. Riot's told you what they expect and what you can and can't do yet you can't control yourself and have to be a jerk.

.Also if you keep on getting pounished than perhaps it's not the system or the other players that's the problem but you and your interpretation and what's right and wrong. Perhaps you should change the behaviors that're causing you to get banned.

So you can either continue to rage and flame and keep getting punished to the point of a perma ban or change and keep your account.

Unfortunately you receive warnings for both valid and false reports. Warnings just mean you've been reported though, so if you haven't been toxic, don't worry about being chat restricted.
