Afraid to play ranked because of Plat+ smurfs
I feel like I'd maybe get Silver if i started playing ranked around now but i'm afraid of losing to high level smurfs

There aren't that many, and if they are actually good enough to stomp you on their own, they mostly will have already advanced too far to get matched with you. Plus, you can have those guys on your own team as well. Also, if you don't enjoy playing Ranked you can just do your 10 placement matches so you get a Rank and can receive your icon/border for this season; you don't need to play any more than that.
