Disconnects are NOT a reportable offense

They aren't. Sometimes shit happens. Sometimes your internet decides to hang itself, or sometimes the servers at Riot aren't playing nice. If a person decides to fap in the fountain when the game is still going, then it's an active AFK, and it's a reportable offense. If they ragequit, it's a reportable offense. If you are angry that something caused them to not join for twenty minutes, it's NOT a reportable offense.

Hope this clears up some of the confusion.

being DCed is a reportable offense regardless. cause you are AFK. the report system doesnt see a difference and i'll keep reporting people who join late or DC.

First point: AFK= away from keyboard. I (when i DC) am not away from the keyboard, I'm trying to reconnect my internet to my laptop by disconnecting from the wifi and then reconnecting. Making your reason invalid. Second point: Your report isn't doing anything. It will only generate angry and hate in the community because they don't have the best internet. Sorry bro, some players like myself, don't pay the bills because we are still children and can't afford it and have no right to annoy our parents into getting better internet just because of mediocre connection.

If you randomly "leave" I'm reporting regardless of the reason honestly. maybe if you reconnect i wont but if you stay "AFK" regardless if your "fixing" it or not i'll report that is just how i role. Also you said my AFK point is invalid, yet sometimes people actually leave there keyboard, which makes them afk which proves my point?

Just to point something out. I've DC'ed 3/4 of my games, and I've never gotten any type of ban because of it. So I don't think it does anything, it just lets you click buttons when you're angry with someone else.

If you DC 3/4 games you shouldn't play, its not fair to your team to go in with a 75% chance of randomly dropping out.

If you play off of satellite internet in the subarctic and DC every other game, you're ruining games just as consistently as rage quitters. You need to get control of your living situation and wifi or not play a team game. Seriously. You're held to a responsibility to be here, and when you don't do so there is a consequence.

Not everyone lives in the arctic. There's a sizable player base that live near the Riot HQ. Sometimes you get problems with the internet. Sometimes the power goes out. Shit occasionally happens that's out of your control, and reporting people for that is not helping anyone. You have to be able to CONFIRM that they went AFK intentionally.

I never report people for dcing randomly. I only report when I'm sure they rage quit/afk on purpose (which includes leaving your cpu and getting distracted for 80% of the game). Because sometimes it is out of your control and you can't warn anyone about it because you have no idea yourself. This past week I was doing placements, was doing well on my 9th game when suddenly I'm attempting to reconnect. Turns out my ISP had an outage in my area, wasn't fixed for hours. Was playing an aram the next day, and the same thing happened. I felt horrible, but there is literally nothing I could have done. I'd hate to report someone in a similar situation.

Finally someone with the proper mind-set, I stated above that as a minor, I can't control it. Holding a minor responsibly with something they shouldn't have to deal with is unfair.

Interesting fact, I've DC'ed 3/4 of my games and found this out. Leaverbuster will only get on you if you're not "in the game" during the ending (nexus being destroyed). I have been DC'ed for almost entire game and come back 2 minutes before our nexus got destroyed and nothing about leaverbuster on my cases. Maybe bugged or needs some tuning.

Not true, they just give leeway between consequences. In order for the game to count towards a leaverbuster, you have to dc for 5+ minutes. After 2 or 3 games that you dc, they give you a leaver buster, so they ARE giving you Leaverbuster, just not visibly

They are actually, they build up your leaverbuster for every game you DC for 5+ minutes

When it reaches a certain amount in a given time, they slap a punishment on you

I would expect RIOT would only ban someone who was repeatedly reported for being AFK. So if you just happen to occasionally have the rotten luck to DC, and someone reports you, it probably doesn't matter.
If however, you KNOW you have piss poor internet, and you CHOOSE to join an online game that is PvP, and your constantly DCIng, then you are CHOOSING to #%$ on your team right from the get go. You almost guarantee 4 other players a crappy game, and a loss (and worse for the Rank guys, in terms of trying to progress) all because you have crap internet that isn't up to the task of remaining connected. IN which case, if you get banned, all the better.
Seriously, if you ever queue for Ranked, and know you have that poor of a connection, I truly hope Teemo finds you in an alleyway and leaves you with a burning itch for the rest of your ungodly days.

This is false. Leaverbuster is just as much about finding and punishing people with frequent connection problems as it is ragequiters.

Yes, there are all kinds of random things that can happen and everyone will have them happen sometimes. This is why leaverbuster doesn't punish people for individual leaves but rather having an unnacceptable overall rate of leaving games. The reason or cause for a leave is not a factor.

Intentional disconnects are a reportable offense. Unintended disconnects are not. Sadly, teammates (and Riot for some dumb fuck reason) can't tell the difference. The only time teammates seem to know the disconnection was unintended is when you return a minute or two after disconnecting.

But seriously, fuck "attempting to reconnect" bullshit.
