Kinda true. People have been waiting for the Poppy rework for ages. So it's natural it steals the new characters thunder.

I suspect that is the reason she was revealed late in the day after illaoi's release.

Illaoi IS cool, but Poppy has needed a rework for SO long. Twoish weeks of hype is nothing to compare with the months-years of waiting for Poppy to finally get a rework.

I feel bad for the champion released around the time Taric's rework comes out.

Makes me feel like what happened with Atrox and Lucian.

When Atrox was announced, Lucian was leaked (Under the title "The Gun Templar"). After Lucian was leaked, no one really cared about Atrox.

Was more excited for Dragon Trainer Tristana than Illaoi

Yeah, it's was awful timing, really. :/ It's a shame because Illaoi is so much fun to play and is so important, ugh. It's like Aatrox, Lucian, Jinx bs all over again just more smashed together.
