@TomAbernathy or @RiotOpeli, Is this really the level of lore we're to expect from now on?

From the recently updated PBE:

"Cassiopeia is a terrifying creature - half woman, half snake - whose slightest glance brings death. The youngest daughter of one of Noxus' most influential families, she was once a beautiful and cunning temptress capable of manipulating the hardest heart. Transformed by the venom of an ancient Shuriman tomb guardian, she continues to serve Noxian interests as she always has, just in a more... visceral way."

Is this a placeholder, like many are suggesting, or is this the actual lore that will be coming out for these champions?

Then, specifically speaking about Cass, does this new lore mean that, instead of being Katarina's younger and less knife happy sister, Cass now belongs to some unknown family? Also, why get rid of the Freljord curse? Does this mean that when Sivir met Cass (in Sivir's lore), Cass was human and the opening of that crypt led to Cass's curse instead of a sacred oath to keep a secret?

Please don't do what the Narrative team has been doing and ignore the questions. Please, provide something of an answer at least this one time.

  • She is likely to still be related to Katarina.
  • It is probably a placeholder.
  • When Cass and Sivir met she was probably still human, we can infer this because the excerpt says a tomb guardian cursed her.
  • Presumably, the curse is no longer tied to Freljord because these events are happening simultaneously within the world.

Just another verse in the litany coming out with Azir in the Shurima Event. Or rather, the Great Shuriman Retconning. You can find my analysis of the rest here:

That discussion got as high as 3rd position on the "Hot" sorting over the weekend, then dropped off a cliff and out of sight sometime Monday morning. Lots of good discussion there, and a pretty good demonstration to Riot that we care about this, a lot. No response.

I am officially irked. 3 years of "don't worry, we're working on it, and it's AWESOME" with nothing to show for it but a bunch of half assed retcons, most of which don't make any sense at all.

According to a red post (You'll have to go digging through the Red Tracker, sorry, there's been a lot of them today), these short-form bios are being used as quick introductions. Full bios will remain available on the champion pages on-site.

This is because apparently the client has hard limits on the length of champion bios that can be inserted into it, so this is kind of a short term solution for them while they rework it (see the launcher/landing page rebuilds recently) so they can do more in-client.
