Why does darius do so much damage when he is full tank?
This is a serious question, I was laning against a darius and he was wrecking me with no damage items

He is not a full tank. He is a bruiser. Same as any other top laner like Renek, Riven, and so on
High base damages, but if you have any defensive items he doesn't do damage aside from his fully charged ulti.
Because Darius has high damage from stats alone and additionally was given in his kit magic damage, true damage and free percentage armor penetration on his E, these three so he can still do damage against armored targets.
Don't underestimate Darius's passive. If he catches you long enough to throw a full five stacks onto you you will bleed out significantly even if you escape.
Also, as someone else pointed out, you seem to have rushed armor items, but Darius gets armor penetration as a free stat, and neither Frozen Heart nor Ninja Tabi help increase Hecarim's damage unless you start dueling long enough for the CDR to add enough extra Qs to make a noticeable difference. And with Darius's DoTs and higher armor penetration, a protracted duel where both sides have defensive items only is most likely in his favor, not Hecarim's.
