The Ranked Restriction system is hilariously confusing

Normal Draft WINS is so specific.

I have a buddy who lost 9 normal draft games in a row and is panicking over the demotion from decay because he can't play ranked and Riot won't let him redeem himself because he's required to WIN those games.

Can you give him some peace of mind and alter the requirement to games played of even normal draft? Winning forces an unpredictable component and under the pressure of demotion, he plays poorly. He's less toxic in general, but I can't imagine his frustration from it.

They want you to put an effort into your Normal matches instead of just letting you throw your games for easy 20 minute completions. Typically players have around 50% win rate, so that is what the restriction is balanced for; if they give you 10 games to win, they expect you to do around 20 matches. Changing that and just giving you 20 matches to simply play would mean there are now ranked restricted players out in the Normal queue throwing 20 matches instead of making an honest attempt.

literally riot doesn't care about you the moment you get punished. i dont mean this in a mean way, just the pattern riot shows is that punished players aren't people anymore.

I dont really understand what youre describing.... are you saying that he wants to play a ranked game to prevent his LP decay, but he's afraid he'll lose LP from a straight up loss, so you want them to change how ranked works? Like i get that ranked is stressful, but that's because it's RANKED -- and why there is a difference between normals draft and ranked draft.

If he's losing a bunch of games in normals draft and he's worried about being demoted in ranked, maybe he shouldnt be worried since his rank probably doesnt reflect his skill level. Im not sure (since Riot isnt very transparent with this) but i believe your normals MMR mirrors your ranked MMR.

The number of games you are given is expecting you to lose about half of your games. So if the win component was removed you would just be given double the numbers of games. Except then you would have no incentive to try and the fastest way to get through your restriction would be to get your team to surrender at 20 every game.

You have to win the games so you can't just afk or troll

And the game tries to match equal 0premades against each other. So if you're less likely to have a premade, so are they.
