The enemy team kept making "Your mom" references at me, and once that I told them that my mom passed away last month, they responded with "Good, she better stay that way, go join her"

I mean I'm not phased by it too much because I try not to let edgy teenagers get to me but I think a lot of other people would be pretty disturbed that anyone could go by saying this and really not face any punishment for it. It's kind of upsetting because since the funeral League has been a good vent of the stress up until this point.

A few patches ago I usually would see the report notifications. Lately I have had games with people casually yelling n**er or telling "fggots to go kill themselves and the reports don't seem to be doing anything. I don't really care but part of the game is social and not being able to carry a decent conversation makes the game even more unenjoyable than it already is this season.

I wish they would just bring the Tribunal back, it's been years.

I'm sorry man, some people just don't understand that the stuff they are saying is to another human being, they just say whatever behind the safety of their screen. I just mute players like them

In order to enjoy this game this season, I mute everyone at the start of the game. Otherwise, it's guaranteed that someone will say something that is insulting or pisses me off.

Every so often I misclick and leave someone unmuted. I usually discover my mistake later on in the game when that person tells me to kill myself.

It's League of Legends, it's rated one of the worst gaming communities of all time, Granted Riot is trying to fix their image, but we have to wait for Tribuanal.

Also newer generations of teenagers grew up on the internet and have no respect. They live in a no consequence world which is also why this new generation of teenagers are rated the most hated human beings on the planet, and I'm not making this shit up, they are.

Well, i hope you reported them and also, you should turn off all chat in "options" and mute your teammates if you need to. On the internet, there are alot of crazy kids (legit insane) that have no consideration for other people's feelings. They act like they can say or do anything without consequences. They will get whats coming to them in real life because real life doesn't work like the internet does.

I turned off all chat for this reason. I'm actually enjoying league of legends since I turned all chat off. There no reason to talk to your enemy anyways.

They're just Internet bullies, unless you know them IRL just realize they're mommy is letting them stay up late or not be at school or what not. It's all just words being typed on a screen. Just mute them and play the game.

The toxicity in this game is very real, just remember chances of you actually seeing these people are very VERY slim.

It's over the internet and they feel safe to say things they shouldn't. Just know they would be scared little puppies after they say something like to you in real life. Best thing to do is just mute and play on.

To be fair, you fueled the fire by telling them of your loss. "Not feeding the trolls" has been an internet rule for a while. :/ Why not mute them instead of fueling arguments? Not like you need to know what they're saying to play the game.

But the most satisfying thing ever in this game is when you get the message that someone got banned, then you make the Draven face then laugh. hah!

Yeah, and the report system really doesn't do fuck all. After Dunkey got banned, I went around for 4-5 days talking like that to see how long it took to get warned/chat restricted etc, and I even had a friend reporting me in a few of the games, too, and I only got one warning. Mind you this is ~10 games a day and it took the better part of a week to even get warned. Being able to be completely toxic for 50 games before I even get slapped on the wrist is just ridiculous.

Sorry that happened to you, but it's pretty broad to say it's the entire community. The downside of the online community in general, not just ours, is you get people that will just say whatever innapropriate mean thing they think of. I personally beleive people often forget there's an actual human being with feelings on the other side of the screen. I know when I went to MSI not one person told me to kill myself, and everyone was very pleasant, and friendly. It's the anonomity that makes these people feel they can say, and do whatever they want. In my opinion people need to act like they're having a face to face interaction, and just not say anything they wouldn't say to your face.
