For an entire year, the boards have been plagued by requests for urf mode, and now that it is back (with better balance mind you) the boards are plagued with complaints about urf or why it isnt fun.

What in the world is wrong with you people? Do you actually want riot to ignore boards all together? do you want them to think the entire community is a bunch of whiny idiot children who will complain no matter what?

So, when you ask for something and the company gives it to you, dont be a complete moron and complain. Say 'thank you' so that they can be glad they listened to the community and other requests can be met as well. Stop being entitled little prick children that cause riot to think twice about listening to anything the community has to say.

The OP is just another of the URF haters that makes this threads to create hate of URF. Do not be fooled by his friendly aproach. Our king URF has many enemies, all jealous of his mighty superiority. But he is merciful and will not exterminate this evil ants.

I mean if it was at least constructive feedback like things they could do to make it better that would be fine.

But most of the threads I see about it are just people bitching cuz other people take it to seriously and I guess they cant have fun losing.

If winning=fun for you pick a different game mode this game mode is not balanced, its not intended to be balanced and its meant to be for the lulz.

I didnt mind URF coming back. Played it for a few days, had fun and left it, need elo to climb out of plat. Its fun no doubt, there are just a bit more toxic players than it was before. I am grateful that URF is out for everyone, but some are just ungrateful and inconsiderate. EDIT: the main thing is to have fun, it seems like some has lost the meaning of this.

As a computer programmer I can say from experience that people don't ever know what they want. They'll tell you one thing, and in their minds that thing will sound cool, but they'll make assumptions and leave out core details, and in the end what they tell you and what they actually want are entirely different.

The same thing applies to URF. Last year people loved URF because it was wild, different, fun, and there was no meta or expectations. People didn't really say that though, they simply stated 'We want URF back'. So Riot listened to what they stated, and gave them back URF. However, people knew how the gamemode worked now, and so meta and expectations existed, the game was no longer as different (since it had been experienced before) and as a result a lot of appeal was lost causing people to complain.

I don't think it's 100% Riot's fault, or 100% the fault of the player base. People just naturally are bad at asking for things, since they tend to say what they want rather than why they want it.

pretty sure- I'm 100% sure people are complaining because last year, 9 champions were disabled.. this year, none are, so, by human nature, people are trying their hardest to pick the same 10 champs, win every game.

This in turn creates a miserable experience for the opponent, (seriously, try to kill galio at 20 minutes in URF), and... yeah..

These champions from this year weren't something people had to deal with last year, Galio and Sona both have almost a 70% winrate, what does that tell you

URF was fun on the old summoner's right and the the patch at the time.

But LoL is different now and champs the have really gimmicky moves just dominate, thus making it frustrating to play.

Howdy, figured I pop in and toss in my two cents. So, I'm pretty new to the game, but I did hear about URF and look up videos and get hyped for it thinking "This looks awesome!". I saw no rage, just people having fun and, although I came in too late to play it, I thought that it was cool that Riot did that and it was such a hit.

Then it came this year, I tried it, this seemingly legendary mode where all the sportsman-like people would go to chill and I could have some good times, maybe even some banter. The first few games it was fun, I tried all my favorite champs in this mode, but ran into the same few enemies every time. And I could take the loss and still laugh it off, but after a while I ran into people arguing and ruining the fun in general.

All that said, I don't go onto the whining threads, I just play normal modes for now and wait for the hype to die down. Also, I think the people before me are right, all the people who like URF are playing it, and I'm sure Riot knows that.

The ones who are content will not be the ones jumping on the Boards making posts. Simple but sad fact.

And even then, when someone is content about one subject they'll simply move on to the next thing they're angry about, and someone else will be upset about the precious change that made person 'A' content. It doesn't matter how well an argument an individual makes, the overall community will always be complaining more than anything. It's just better/worse at times (like patches).

All those people who wanted it back were either A: People who never got a chance to play it, or B: people who wanted it to be a permanent (and therefore serious) gamemode, with a very small minority that just liked to have a lot of fun on the mode or remembered it as better than it was. The people who never had a chance to play it got told of the many wonders of URF, and set their expectations excessively high (because that is what it was hyped up to be). This left them feeling very disappointed when URF came 'round and it wasn't as epic as they had hoped. The people who wanted it to be serious/permanent are mostly the try hards that flame you for not picking a known OP champion, and only like URF because it is easy to win if your team is more OP than the enemy's. Those players hated that Riot tried to balance URF, and that the fun-ness was gone from it because of their tryhard mentalities. The few people that liked it because it was goofy and fun and wanted it back were disappointed because where last year they could experiment and try out goofy stuff and have a blast, this year, even hovering something that isn't in the top dozen picks gets you a queue dodge, a flamer, or a champion that you know for a fact can't really do well amongst the OP champs.

EDIT: Just to be absolutely clear, I think URF is a fantastic game mode, I just think there are too many people who are playing it seriously instead of enjoying it for the crazy, whacky, unbalanceable thing it is. That is why I don't like playing URF anymore.

It was the rose-tinted glasses. People thought it was awesome, but when it came back, they realized it wasnt as fun as they thought.
