Poll: Did you waste money on Runes/Champions/IP Boosts? If so, how much?
Recently the rune pricing topic came up again and after thinking about it, there really can't be another reason for Riot Games to keep the system that way unless they'd want to make more profit because some people, like a younger me in the past, will just lose patience and waste money on rune pages, IP boosts and sometimes even champions. I can say today that I pretty much wasted 50 euros on that alone over the years and if you'd multiply that by a ton of other idiots like me, this would mean a lot of potential profit that Riot would otherwise lose out on.
Think about it - what possible other reason could they even have? Considering how big and organized their company is at this point and at what pace they update all the other aspects of the game, I don't see how there would be any other reason besides this to keep a relict from the past like the current rune system the way it is.
To really test this theory, I wanted to make a poll like in the title. Be honest, did you pay for real money for runes/champions/IP boosts at some point in time or didn't you and how much in total did you pay?
After a few days or weeks I will come back to this post, math out how high the percentage of players is that wasted their money on this and how much they spent on average, then multiply it by all the poeple playing League right now and see just how much money they made in theory and how much they would lose out on if the rune system would get reworked.
