You chat ban toxic players. Makes sense. I don't agree with rank banning, though. I think rank ban should be a punishment for players that troll in ranked games. Toxic? Chat ban. Troll ranked games? Ranked ban. Why are we mixing the two?

I am just saying it doesn't make sense to ban someone from playing ranked for just "toxic" language. You ban their chatting ability. It wouldn't make sense to chat ban someone that is nice but trolling ranked would it? No. So I don't get why they do the opposite. But yes, people should just mute if they have a problem.

On another note, I recently finished playing a game where we had our adc afk the entire game and before the enemy team finally after forever ends the game we all say: "Welp.. time to go back to :gamename:"

The goal of Riot's punishment system is to reform. When taking away chat isn't enough incentive for you to be less toxic, they give you another incentive.

Ive played on low elo accounts and there was not a single game where noone was called troll (and most likely reported as troll aswell) with only a few serious trolls

I disagree with this statement in so many ways lol. People in this game take, "please don't chase the tank into the unwarded jungle" and reply "dude stop acting superior. you aren't good either. if you were good you would carry". I'm sorry, but I personally don't expect 1 single person to have a bigger effect on the game than 9 players, and most of the time the reason you lose is a team effort, not "look at your own play and see what you could have done better". You can easily look at your own play and see what you could improve, while still telling some asshat to stop 1v3 diving.
If you are 0-4 and continue to fight the fed lane enemy, you are trolling. You KNOW that fighting will result in death, so you are intentionally feeding. Like I said, it is easy to see someone that just faced a better opponent, but if you are shoving your lane with 0 vision against a fed enemy and then complaining that "i gotzed camped bruh lolz jus a gam nuub", you are trolling.

The ranking system doesn't place you based on how good you are, it places you based on how much you can "carry" the game. Dumb in my opinion, but really the only way I can see it being done. You think I feel I deserve silver? Nope lol. Was gold last season. I even dou'd with my Plat 1 friend while I was gold. We wen't 3-0 before he reached diamond and we could no longer duo. But, I have been playing ADC lately, and just winning lane isn't effective because I can look at the score and see the enemy mid and top have a combined 15 kills at 10 mins. GG. Thinking you belong in a higher elo doesn't make you a dick. I know people consider me a dick because I say things like "please play safe since you have died 3 times". More often than not I get a "stop harassing me /all report toxic". That is the game that rito has evolved. Anyway...I digress...

bad arcade kitty1 votesi agree, i don't play ranked why do i get ranked restricted? 2 games ranked restriction at first, 35 games ranked restriction then (also like 100 games chat restrictions summarily), 0 ranked games played, 0 games intentionally fed, a couple of games i lane trolled for 2-3 minutes running from lane to lane to confuse people what i wanted... all those restrictions are simply for speaking with people in the lobby. most of reports went when i was on a series of win streaks too
Jubbinaut1 votesThat's actually really strange. Ranked restrictions are supposed to only be issued for toxic behavior in Ranked games. So if you aren't playing Ranked, you shouldn't be receiving them.
Are you otherwise capable of playing Ranked (lvl 30/16 champs owned)? There is a known bug that shows up now and then that shows players looking at the Ranked queue that they're Restricted, when it's actually a different issue preventing them from queuing.

yeah, i can play them obviously no, it's an actual restriction with a counter which decreases after each normal draft win, a pop up window etc
Jubbinaut1 votesThat's really strange, and it's really not supposed to happen. If you haven't yet, you might submit a Support ticket asking how you received a Ranked Restriction with no Ranked games played.
Alternatively, you might hit up Lyte on Twitter (@RiotLyte) or Reddit (/u/RiotLyte). I'm sure he'd love to know there's something causing Ranked Restrictions for players who aren't playing Ranked - can't fix bugs if you don't really know they're happening. Or at least he might be able to offer more insight into it.

Because Riot considers trolling to be a form of toxic behavior. They also consider verbal abuse/harassment/chat spam/offensive language/etc to be a form of toxic behavior.
There are only two forms of sanction available for non-verbal toxicity at the moment: Ranked Restrictions and Time Bans. As such, players who troll, grief, or are otherwise toxic without using chat are more likely to receive a Ranked Restriction quicker.
Meanwhile, chat restrictions are explicitly intended to address verbal toxicity. However, should chat restrictions prove ineffective, future sanctions can be escalated to Ranked restrictions or even Time Bans, depending on the severity or frequency. It's important that these tools remain available for use in appropriate situations - as incentives, they can both be very useful in encouraging reform.
