I love as an ADC how a tank is capable of pumping out a lot of damage and still able to tank up.

It actually depends on the runes of the ADC and the Tank, and also it depends on how many items each one has.

well considering most tanks in the game are almost able to instakill adcs if they get their hands on them.

At maybe 2 attacks a second, and you have, say, 3k hp, thats 15 seconds for them to kill you.
