I feel like hextech crafting is a rip off.
So I just got Pulse fire Ezreal from a hextech chest and I was quite happy, but when I wanted to upgrade him to a skin permanent I came to find that it takes me 2950 orange essence to do so.
2950 ORANGE ESSENCE Luckily I have 5 other skins I can disenchant for essence right... 5 disenchants together are 1600 orange essence. Wtf. So let's say I need about 4 more skin shards to get my legendary skin, that means I need 9 hextech chests, with the 1 needed for the legendary skin that makes 10. That means 10 Hextech chests IF you get only skin shards.
So IF you get 1 legendary skin and 9 hextech chests with all skins you disenchant you can get your legendary for about 15 to 20 bucks, that means you might as well buy the skin, but wait there is an advantage to buying you skin, you're guaranteed to get it in stead of just getting lucky. For all you know you spend 50 bucks and don't get enough essence for your upgrade.
This hextech sh*t is a god damn scam.
