Sorry to say man, but the best thing you can do, which I try make a habit of doing, is spam ping.
Now I don't mean to harass your team, I mean to make it as clear as you possibly can that your team is about to make a mistake, be in trouble, needs to approach, etc.
If there is a missing laner that you see, spam that Missing In Action yellow ping until you cant ping anymore. Then once its up? Do it again.
See your top laner Yasuo shoving lane against a volibear with no vision while the mid laner just disappeared? Spam that warning ping.
See your team about to fight without you in a 4v5 right next to baron? Ping your team to hell to back the fak off because you just respawned and they need you. Tell them you're only a few seconds away, and if they haven't engaged, they'll be better off for it. But mostly, stick to pings for shot calling.
Call the shots if you're frustrated with your team's decisions. If you happen to be doing well, they will almost ALWAYS listen to you. Try to forgive their mistakes, and be humble when you make mistakes yourself. Call yourself boosted if you need to in chat. It usually shows your team you aren't an @sshole, and will help you reflect individually as a player. It may even provoke a good laugh.
It's also just good practice to be a shot caller. I would strongly consider being that. But most of all, REMEMBER THAT YOUR MAIN FOCUS AS A PLAYER IS TO GET BETTER. As doublelift has said himself, "You don't play solo que to get your team better, you play solo que to get yourself better. And when you get yourself better, you are able to carry your team, raise elo, and then your teammates will get better." The teammates get better because as a better player, you will eventually get out of your bit of elo hell. Eventually.
I know the season rewards are right around the corner so if it's a matter of getting to gold before the end of the season, let it go. The stress of rushing to see immediate results is ironically one of the obstacles you must overcome to improve as a player. This is because when you rush elo, you are playing to win, and will thus be much more frustrated when things go wrong no matter who's fault it is. You will consequently play worse because of your frustration, and any efforts from ANYONE on the team, you or them, to flame each other for your mistakes, will take away from the focus of the game. If it continues as it usually does, the discord among your team will unbalance your ability to work together versus their ability to work together, making losses easier, and making climbing harder.
Focus on yourself. Yes, your teammates are morons, I more than believe you. In fact I believe they are living proof that the human species may eventually lose it's fixated number of chromosomes one day and become outright retarded if these idiots breed among the world's population any longer. I hate A LOT of this community simply because I CANT STAND people who are clearly not trying as hard as I am. But you need to concentrate on YOURSELF. Don't let these retards beat you, and don't consider yourself be any means an LCS player either. Be the best player you possibly can.
Just some advice from a silver scrub. Hope it helps.
