They're doing this because of Riot's handling of the Sandbox mode idea.

Seriously, the backlash was pretty wide, and I'd be surprised if other game devs didn't hear about it.

Smite's devs are doing the right thing and taking advantage of Riot's weakness.

its pretty much the same reason why riot dosen't have 2 severs. They makes up bs for reason why they can't. Dota 2 has 2 severs and has less players.

Ghostcrawler said there are genuine considerations of a sandbox mode currently. Nothing official, but they hear us and it's a start.
