I have a couple QoL improvements for League.
1.) Increase the time it takes to be able to play ranked games.
So many people that are currently playing in ranked games don't understand the most simple of concepts (ie not to chase the tank into the unwarded jungle). Making them play more will hopefully teach them these things that should be already be learned by the time one enters a ranked game mode. I get the game is for fun, but these players contribute to the toxicity of the community when they fuck up people's ranked games.
2.) Start all new players in bronze 5.
Some people get lucky and get carried in their placement games. Even to the point of a newly ranked person getting into silver. New players are not silver caliber. Again, this causes people to rage at them because they are making the bronze 5 mistakes and costing them games. I would go as far as to say most of the players that get placed in silver end up getting demoted to bronze anyway. You should have to prove that you have increased your level of play, not be handed it.
In addition to the things mentioned above, I think this would also deter account buying. It would be much more difficult to level up many accounts just to sell them. I also think it would decrease the amount of smurfs in the game. This is good for two main reasons. The first being it would stop toxic players that get 2 week bans from simply making new accounts and flaming low level players. It would also help the new player experience. New players get very frustrated getting noob stomped by some gold smurf. Thanks for listening.
3.) You have to play a champ at least 10 normal games before playing them in ranked.
I am also frustrated with the amount of teammates I get that "lol first time zed". It is pretty much a guaranteed 4v5 and loss. Even if you do win the 4v5 matchup, do they really deserve to improve their elo from that match? No. This is just toxic behavior because you are trolling and ruining the game for 4 others that are actually trying.
4.) You must have full runes/mastery pages to play ranked.
No more teammates playing ranked with 0 runes because they don't understand what they do. No more teammates having 13 mastery points because "lolz forgot to update". These things simply do not belong in ranked.
5.) Give an actual tutorial to the game.
New player experience sucks ass. You complete a half-ass tutorial that literally teaches you nothing. My friend got me into the game. I played the tutorial and thought, "alright, this seems pretty simple" only to get my ass kicked by beginner bots. I went over my friends and in 1 game, he showed me more than I learned up to level 10 of playing by myself. I honestly probably would have quit this game if I didn't have the in life friend to actually show me something that makes sense. Why? Because when the tutorial doesn't teach you shit, you get your ass kicked. This is no fun. It is even less fun when you have some "diamond smurf" (in reality they are bronze) talking shit on you for doing bad lol.
6.) Start new players with more champs.
Honestly, I don't care about the price of champs. Sure, they are high as fuck, they don't update the prices anywhere near the frequency they should, and they take forever to get, but I'm ok with that. I'm ok with it since it is a free to play game and you can still unlock everything in the game for free. You can also unlock them with money. I think we should start new players with more champs because they simply are not earning enough ip to unlock any champs at a fast enough rate.
7.) Make a report besides "he called me bad name" do something.
Currently, the only report they even look at is the verbal abuse ones. Cool, they are doing something with that and it's great. They also need to give the other reports some love. If you get a 5th pick that insists on instalocking mid instead of filling, they should get reported and punished. I don't know why they don't crack down on trolls. People are able to float by trolling, while reporting the people telling them to stop trolling. It is really stupid.
