@Riot: How would you feel about a Fame/Infamy or Affinity based mechanic in the LoL Client?

How it would work: The client will keep an active and visual log for both you and others to see that keeps track of your behavior in League of Legends.

There would be different ranks to rate your level of "Pleasantness" or "Toxicity".

  • Pleasant Ranks (From Lowest to Highest amount of "BP" required):
  1. Neutral
  2. Samaritan
  3. Civil Servant
  4. Kind Hearted
  5. Peace Keeper

These ranks will be gained through the accumulation of "Behavior Points" (Working Title).

"BP" can be acquired through actions such as:

  1. If a summoner gives honor to a player, they will get a small amount of "BP".
  2. If a summoner is given honor, they will be given a large amount of "BP".
  3. If a summoner reports a player and they are found to be truthfully guilty, they will get a small amount of "BP".
  4. If a summoner completes a game without being reported, regardless of if they were given honor or not, they will get a small amount of "BP".

As for the opposite end of the spectrum...

  • Toxic Ranks (From Highest to Lowest amount of "BP" required):
  1. Neutral
  2. Deviant
  3. Mischievous
  4. Trouble Maker
  5. Pariah

These ranks will be gained through the loss of "Behavior Points" (Still Working Title).

"BP" can be lost through actions such as:

  1. If a summoner is reported by their team members and found to be truthfully guilty, they will lose a large amount of "BP".
  2. If a summoner is reported by the opposing team and found to be truthfully guilty, they will lose a small amount of "BP".
  3. If a summoner is chat banned, they will lose a large amount of "BP".
  4. If a summoner is temporarily banned, they will lose a large amount of "BP".

Those with large amounts of BP will be queued up with those who have relatively similar amounts of BP. Those with negative amounts of BP will be queued up with those who are either Neutral or lower. This will help those with a positive attitude play with those that equally have positive attitudes. As well, this will hopefully help those who are negative towards others reform in order to play with those that are more pleasant.

Any additional rewards/punishments are for Riot to decide.

Thoughts on this system?

i like the idea of Prisoners Island. let them all rot together.

it may sound harsh but i am sick of going into every single game with someone on my team raging about or at something. this game used to be fun.. riot refuses to handle the trolls and afkers.. they are finally starting to go after the toxic on some huge levels.. but no. bring all the afkers, trolls, people reported enough. and put them all in their own matchmaking.. then my favorite game in the world can be amazing again.

Prisoners island is always a touchy subject but I for one am a fan of your idea!

It seems to easy to get bp and to hard to lose bp. Like the idea though

Why does Neutral lose BP. i understand it not getting gains. Gains means you did something. Neutral means you played the game.

This a major issue here. to treat neutral is a negative experience is a game that i do not want apart of.

This idea seems interesting, however, wouldn't this bury thos people who were previously toxic who wants to reform to the 7th level of ELO Hell, if there was any? Besides, if you are notoriously toxic already, it will create a bias to everyone who plays with you, thus not giving you a chance to reform at all.

Hate begets hate. This would just feed the cycle of hatred. What do you think?

(I love the Fallout-style nomenclature.)

I see two issues with this system, as much as I like it:

  1. Abusiveness of giving honor to players in an effort to stack BP or counter negative BP.
  2. Queuing negative players with one another could lead to a snowball of negative behavior, rather than what we'd all like to see -- elimination or conversion of "toxic" behavior.

Love the idea, tho some points need to be worked on, such as:

  • Lose BP when you get muted; Not so sure about it since I've seen plenty people muting team mates because they wanted to be more focused even tho all the team mates were super nice.

  • Gain some BP when honoring another player; I don't think it should increase your BP, I would rather put something like "Gain some BP when you are honored by a non-friend player."

But yeah, if this concept gets polished by the community and Riot, I believe it would be a super neat addition.

I am all for this idea except the "Civil Servant" that could easily be seen as more of a nag in this community.

So people can glorify their bad behavior?

"Let me a be a prick to everyone I play with so I can be known as a Mischevious Teddie"

The last thing we need is an incentive to being toxic.

I like this. I would prefer to see a system that rewards players for being honorable as well as rewarding them for sending in helpful reports. While it would be nice to have a BP system, I would like to see people heavily rewarded for their good acts.
