This isn't "New Lore incoming." This is Freljord 2.0

I knew this was all too familiar.

For those of you who remember, the Freljord patch was where everything changed (and not all for the better)

  1. Riot started with a beautiful page that introduced the upcoming changes to
  2. Riot released new lore in the PBE that was underwhelming at the least, completely hated at the worse, and the lore team was unwilling to change a thing.
  3. Riot announces big changes (Trundle, Udyr), then tells fans that "if you don't like them, shut the hell up and deal with it."
  4. Riot promises more communication prior to future changes, then grows silent.

Sound familiar?

  1. Riot's lore team puts up a pretty dev blog introducing upcoming changes
  2. Riot releases new lore in the PBE that is underwhelming, but leaves people to think that they're just placeholders for the real stuff.
  3. Riot introduces big changes (the end of summoners, the institute of war and the League of Legends itself) and asks that people give the new lore a try before judging it.
  4. Riot promises more communication with fans, but limits it to a few comment replies, some tweets and one post in the lore discussion forum that says "It's pointless to talk about this here."

I'm just having some fun, but it's strange how similar it all is.

its been pretty much over since 2012. I remember my trundle getting reworked and made somehow uglier than the older trundle(ugly bad.. not good ugly... gold trundle had a personality i loved playing.. new trundle is some power hungry freak thats an ugly blue..)

Not strange at all.

Lets be honest here, this is just how Riot wants to do lore. It's a shame, as I used to buy champions based on how much I liked/Related to their lore, as well as getting Tyrant swain due to being a lore inspired skin.

I guess thats just one less reason to give Riot money. Oh well.
